I'm after someone who can sort out a bet:

can someone tell me what the go is with the 'points system' with this league?

clubs who have 'signed' or 'registered' players, lets say 2 yrs ago, and those players last season played a majority of their footy in the SANFL how many points are they worth??

i guess further to that ... they have not played juniors at that club AND never played a game at that club?

is it black and white or grey??

my bet was on the points are allocated on where they last played not when they signed the registration number?

i got a small wager on it !! hopefully someone can help us!!

Creeks over the Magpies - only because of what Yanks did to them last week

mt compass easy over mclaren - am sure that the bulldogs won't repeat the 1-3 start from last year even though they did finish 3rd

victor in a close one over strath - they showed an exceptional work rate around the ball and clean disposal - this is definately the game of the round

willunga over an improved Myponga - Hams was just dusting off the cobwebs last week....

Yanks off and running - sitting at the other end of the ladder and enjoying the look so should be too good for the bays.. at least for this week

It is Black and White
"A player who has played a majority of matches for the Senior team for a Club or Clubs in any one of the above State Leagues in the previous season – four additional points, less any deductions or concessions."
That is for a league player..4 pts
A reserves is 3 pts.
You Win.

I guess the scenario you are in dispute would be....A GSFL Club say McLaren signs a Sturt Player who has 2 seasons left before he retires....Ben Nelson. He is paid a sign on fee....$$$$$$ signs today and is registered. He then plays for McLaren in 2012 after not missing a game in 2010 and 2011 at Sturt. McLaren think they have beaten the system and he will only be worth 2 pts instead of 4. Oh No he will be worth 4 pts in 2012.

This weeks winners

Langhorne Creek over Goolwa-Port Elliot (does anyone else think it's strange that the GSFL website has them listed as Goolwa Magpies?? - surely the official league program would have them listed as their correct club name?!?)
Mt Compass to knock over McLaren by 3 or 4 goals
I think the Roosters might just have Victor's measure at the minute with the Roos still waiting on a couple of key players to recover from injuries
Willunga comfortably over the improved Mudlarks
Yankalilla by 10 goals over the struggling Bays

The league still has Saints colours at the mail medal night and used the Saints logo both in 2009 and 2010 in the community football advertiser pull out so doesn't suprise me at all.

Might as well have a crack at some tips:

VH - Under 10 points (match of the round)
E Bay - Close one 3 points. Yank potentially have 5 or 6 flying home for 2 weeks including CHF and FF???
Willunga - Pongy improving but Willunga too good 45 points
Mclaren - 1-10 points. Another tight fought game only basing this on home ground advantage
Creeks - 60 points. Will be interesting to start making some comparisons to see where Yank are at

And Yes it is strange that we are the Goolwa Magpies (even listed in the Sunday Mail as that). Then again the league still lists us as wearing red, black on the white on the back of the program so it doesnt suprise.

Thanks to those who have PM'd me to see if Ben Nelson is coming to McLaren. We would love this to happen before 2012. As with all recruiting, Mum is the word.

Any of the other 9 sides.
A Bit early to pick, however
Strathalbyn, Victor, and Langhorne Creek have shown good signs over the last 2 years.

I'm a little surprised by some of the margins tipped for the Yank/EB game. I reckon this game could be very onesided.

I am suprised bays aren't given more of a chance. The Yank posters can confirm or deny but i heard last saturday that there are several flying home to Darwin and Canberra including McFarlanne and Dundovic. Thats 12 goals from last week gone! Surely removing the FF and CHF would be disruptive (if true).

If true, yes that would obviously make a difference then, and would even the game up.

Are they only flying back for this week, or have left the club?
