Didnt Brock win BnF this year. Only good big player South got.Sladey will be good.Curley as well? Dont think they would go tho unless Choco coached in away.Points thing only lets a small mob of players go to another club I think anyway.

Yes he did but people i talk to said he did not play that well and votes apparently were all on the bench as same person did each week. Back in the day votes were shared around to ensure they didn't influence the count. one senior player i talked to don't rate him as a ruckman raher have robinson rucking. My information i have been told, Choco is one of the cause of politic trouble at souths pushing his own agenda and also i have named a person who did not play last year was causing trouble in 2009.

None of them will go but sladey will be a fringe player at best, but i would like him to prove me wrong.

Geez how many best and fairests does a bloke have to win to get on your good side Killa, how about you support your boys instead of backstabbing mate. People like yaself are not what we need, having a crack at people behind their back when it is highly unwarranted. In my eyes the club has not has been as strong both economically and personnel wise for a long time, a better list than 2006 and with a bit of luck could have won two straight flags. So kindly get back in your box

Are you choco

wow I do get out of my box I talk to current/ past players, coaches and key club people so people need stop hiding and fix the problem

well i'm fairly certain that talking behind peoples back and airing all the dirty laundry on here is not achieving anything in the slightest. I'm sure we'll hear these concerns raised at the next AGM though. For the record as a player I hate nothing worse than having supporters have a go at the coach and/or selectors when they have little idea of how it all operates (in general), have a crack yaself if you reckon you can

Great news it what the club needs. Hope he gets rid of the problem people and bring back the disgruntled players who have left in the past.

All coach positions except Centrals have been announced with Ray Hayes confirmed as West coach last night. Does anyone know who got the Centrals job?

i dont think that was/is the problem, he knows his stuff and very passionate, pretty sure being a first time playing coach would be a massive learning curve for him and the general feeling around the traps is that it didnt quite work i.e he didnt have the best of yrs as a player & @ 30 with no real injury troubles should have 4-5 yrs of top shelf A-grade footy left in him potentially another Madigan Medal around his neck

Boof rivers will be great for Souths. Dont know about the rumours involving Tom Payne and Paul Rogan. Rekon they would be asking for a bit of coin. They would both be on a couple of bob each @ PAC so Souths would have to better that taking into account fuel and accommodation. Don't think they would be a good fit for a restless club either.

On the Jess rumour i think he would love too and will defiantly entertain the idea but last season he struggled to commit to playing the odd b grade game because of work and family commitments. Plus he works Saturday mornings.

I am hearing that Dixon has been announced for Central so that completes the set- can anyone confirm?
For what its worth its very unusual to se 2 coaches swap teams in one association in the off season (Duck & Ray) and even more unusual that they make a return to their old clubs!
Mind you, why wouldnt you take them, both class acts and would be suprising if they didnt give their respective clubs a real boost- great for the comp!!
Strucky also has to be a bit stiff though, enjoyed 7dogs honesty very much if he is reading! I do understand why he no longer posts though, hard to win on here! He is a great player & I'm sure he will return!!

Dixon confirmed as coach of Centrals is my mail. Cam Redden would have been a good choice (NAFA coach of the year at BMW) but I guess its still all in the family!
Hayes back to Westies so what does that mean? Pat Hynes out of retirement next?

I reckon the Cats would find a spot for Strucky. He'd be an ideal role model/leader-type for the young kids coming inot the senior ranks.

would you ask Mark Fuller, Matt Woolford, Ryan Morris to stop playing and just coach? i dont think so

i have no doubt he will make a great coach, because when he puts his mind to something he normally achieves it, and when he can 100% focus on coaching is when that will happen

i would if i thought they were good enough coaches... players can be replaced, its even harder to find a very good coach. just think it was odd they didnt even offer him...

what i also find intrigueing is that, south say the player/coach set-up doesnt work. they made a prelim, missed out on a GF by a very narrow margin (which i think souths would have won if they made it) and when i saw strucky play this year he played well. Players respond to him... poor form by south imo, they wont only lose a very good coach but also a very good player and a very good club man.. giving this player/coach only one season is hardly having a try, he would have learnt from this season and improved for next season....

What is the general feeling from the Centrals and Westies players/supporters about there new coaching appointments?

I have heard of mixed re-actions from a few at the Hawks nest.
I get the feeling South and Southies in general are extremely happy with Boofs appointment. Great bloke and well respected.

i think people on the inside wil know what exactly happened throughout the year. things may of seemed rosey from the outside, it was a year that never really got going, and was probably lucky to make that prelim in a way. the players have to put there hand up a little bit as well because they are the ones who play the game. but also for ryan to not have the same team run out on the park 1 time during the season doesnt help a coach.
i have no doubt it was a learning experience for both club, players and coach. A midfielders job is hard enough without having to worry about match-ups and rotations etc. a full forward or full back could pull it off, midfielder way too hard imo, you have to be an exceptional individual to pull it off.
if the footy club loses ryan struck then thats a shame, because the up coming yr is 100yrs for the club and as a passionate guy im sure ryan was looking forward to being apart of it.

so your argument is also two-fold you say souths will lose him as a player and a coach, welll you have just said players can be replaced.
also do a little bit more homework b4 you make some big calls - do you pack up and leave when you dont get something you want? if you walked everytime you dont get your own way in everyday life you wouldnt be left with much
