With all the talk about the lads from PAMFC U19's I thought it might be time to give a bit of a run down on whats been going on over there.

I have been to 2 of the 4 games they have played and have spoken to coaching staff about their progress and performances since starting. I am going from memory but the only 3 players I can recall making the best players in any of these 4 matches are Jay Shannon, Luke Harder and Corey Grove. Jay has played all 4 and got best last week. Luke H played the first 2 (in best players) and has played reserves since. Corey played the first 3 (8 goals and very good in round 1 but not much in the other 2) and played reserves last week.
Of the others (and apologies if I leave anybody out) Glen Schreiber has played 3 of the 4 (scratchy in the 1st but fairly handy in the others) Christian Dorward played his first game last week and played OK I'm told. Matt Cretty has played 3 and has been OK, Caleb Howell has played 4 and has been OK, Luke Carey has played 3 and been OK Brad Keast has played 2 and probably a bit down although one of his trial matches was good, Jack Nelligan has played 4 and has been good (sorry he has got in the best players at least once as well).

Excluding the issue of taking time to settle in, I reckon most of the boys are finding their feet in the big smoke and have not yet played to their full potential consistently. I agree with Leo that PAMFC U19's would beat the PLFL and GFFL teams as most of these lads, who were walk in starters for their local clubs, are having to battle for a game each week, such is their quality and depth.

I believe Christian has signed with Virginia (coached by Greg Phillips) and will play for them when not in Port's side. If that is the case that would put him out of action this week for Bostons. Port Reserves coach has apparently told his squad to have a rest this weekend and not play so Corey grove may not line up for Waybacks. U'19 coach has told his country boys they can play for their home side if they want so Glen (who has not signed with Port Districts or anyone else yet) will probably line up in the magoos for Rangers.

am i missing something or are marble range just an exception?

I just heard PL reigning mail medalist is back in town and is trying to be cleared again to be ok to play this week.

Also with the port bye this week H Miller is in town and asking the coaches to get him a permit for tomorrows clash.

anything on these btb or cu?

For what it's worth here is my prediction for the premiership ladder at end of the minor round -

W - major losses have been more than covered by some excellent recruits and plenty of them. Definitely stronger than last year. Plethora of small midfielders/forwards (with ability)
MR - 5 or 6 major losses have been offset somewhat by some inclusions but will be weaker than last year. 3 in a row may be just beyond them.
MP - By all reports have recruited strongly and would not surprise to see them at the top, however I have a feeling something will implode within the club this year which will affect their performance. No Jones who despite his age and lack of pace, still set them up time and again last year.
B - Improved from last year but not to the extent of W or MP and I still rate them just behind MR
T - Battle between them and LS as to who will be granted the concessions applicable to the bottom side such as "Untouchables" (and we will find out next week if that still remains a concession. It will be interesting to see if the League adheres to the rules they set themselves)
LS - feeling sorry for them already and I reckon W, MP and B should each give them one quality player. MR can't as they are all "Untouchables"  :) :)
