I guess there's a few things clubs can do: play juniors; get a player cleared the previous year (when they're perhaps playing with an SANFL club) and have them worth one less point this year; recruit a player who has played at a high level previously, but hasn't played for a 3 or 4 years so is worth minimal points; deliberately "over" recruit, rotate some players through the B Grade and then decide which players to play when it comes to finals.

all true, but the best way is to use the system as it is set.The rule of playing the eligible u/17 is there for a reason. If the kid is a good player it will potentially allow a club to play a recruit as well.imagine if a club had 2 really good u/17 players! It still begs the question who are the juniors good enough to play A Grade this year?

I thought this rule was voted against at the AGM just recently

Blackwood haven’t signed up their better players from last year yet so could be in trouble I think.

I got a mate playing up there and he was saying they signed up the majority of their players late week, including a few recruits. Not sure of names, but he was saying the B & F and runner-up from last year have signed, including pretty much all senior players, so not sure who there better players are that your referring too Alaska. :?

I am sure Blackwood will be up there again, big club with real motivation following last year. What will they need to take the nexeard a rumourt step?Further to my previos post who are favorites for the U/17 comp? Also heard a rumour that Lobethal will be up there.Perhaps in 2010 we may see some of the lesser clubs move up the ladder i.e Bridgewater and Lobethal.Long way to go for both but it would be great for the comp...

Say what you like about Torrens Valley but they will be up next year! Uri's will make it back to back as they haven't lost anyone of note and whoever the Central Div wooden spooners are they will be heading for Country Div. On face value, goodbye Loby or Bridgy!!!!

Would Have to Agree, With the player list at TV and the influx of more to come, They will be up in central next year, and would say that if Bridgewater do not improve from bottom two this year, they will be in the Country league next year in 2011. which may not be a bad thing for them go back for a couple of years, build the club with some finals apperances maybe a flag or two then come back up. Who knows.

From posts I have read Bridgie have retained De vriies,Eckermann,Mclean, etc plus they have recruited some big names.Surely that puts them in good shape...Is it true they have added a further 8 to their list.?Maybe the guys at Ironbank and Birdwood should be worrying of the TV boys!!!

No worries at Ironbank mate. Not going to boast about recruits etc... all will be revealed come round 1. No point in dropping info on this site, have heard a lot in the past that carry no weight at all. And I reckon I'm hearing quite a bit now.

I'll 2nd that at Birdwood.

Doesn't promotion/relegation has to be voted in by the clubs before TV are able to go into Div 1? Will the clubs go for it? From previous meetings, the div 1 clubs were certainly against it - maybe they've changed their minds??

If your talking about there A grade they seem to make the finals every year but never go any higher then 4th or 5th. I read on here their coach this year is Dave Evans??? Shane Lynch had a go last year but again i read not very popular at the club with players or the commitee. Adam Klun is player their again who is a very strong player they also have a bloke by the name of Shaun Smith whos a good player. Not sure if they have alot more in the side, Nick smart has been good over the years but think he may have gone els where not sure if to play footy or chasing other dreams. Lamb seems to kick alot of goals and then they've got the Tanners who are handy when there not screaming the house down. Chris Shee is awesome when hes on but pretty inconsistant. I think the B grade and U/17s suck and U15s are pretty good
