He'd just gone in to business and a lot of work came up with KD, he signed for Tasmans. We missed out but I had no problems with that what so ever. KD is a great asset for Tasmans to have. It's quite simple, if blokes don't want to play for Tasmans, don't work for KD who wants employees who will also play for the TFC. This form of recruiting is the biggest strength that MR have, find jobs. Their player turnover is quite minimal compared to the out and out $ paying clubs and the recent premiership tally is evidence of this.

no not scruff WCP....and if i wanted pie with sauce i would've asked.....so keep out of it and let me have a discussion with EPPIE without you being the magical forum man with an absolute dead set opinion on everything (tongue in cheek)

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

just on a different game. I was talking to a few MP players last night and they are pretty confident they can beat MR on Fri.

And WT i would like to see nothing more than your club and other struggling clubs in your league be able to offer players more and get some high profile players and even the comp out more.
Do you always drink this much?
No i was sober for 11 years...
What happened?

Attention Great Flinders Football League posters...in the interests of promoting your league, 5CC is keen to give half time and full time scores of all games on a saturday as part of their footy coverage. Please ring Darren Allard at the station if you, or if you know anyone that would be keen to do this. This would come during their AFL broadcast they now have on a saturday.
A great initiative I reckon.

I can remember Coley doing a livebroadcast of the scores at half time and after the local matches..... It was great driving home from the footy turning on the radio at a certain time you knew everyweek and gettting a run down on scores and what happened.
Hope it happens!

Spot on Grub...
I remember doing a few games that Tasmans played back in the late 80s early 90s.
Grant Weetbix would do around the grounds and cross to guys at each venue.. For memory John Humphries, Bob Edmonds were regulars..
Thought it might have been the start of a blossoming radio career but that fizzed out quickly!! Sure got the head for radio.....
At the end of the rundown we had to say thanks to (sponsor ) your update with 5CC, the home of EP footy... Ah the good old days.......

Hopefullly it gets off the ground..

Their budget is freed up a bit now that TRR has hung up the golden microphone...

If the GFFL allow TW to play then it is a farce and HS I think you should take advantage of the rules with your many contacts and plitheraue of money the club has.

wow , what a morning a little hs comment has given you all.
no where do i start, firstly, i never said any club, or names and i never had a problem with recruiting, but RETAINING. if after a year of playing footy, a player isnt enjoying himself or his mates are elsewhere then he should have the freedom to go wherever he wants, clubs should be having a good hard look at why players dont wanna stay!!
and as for trying to steal your players eppie, we both know exzacly who your talking about!! they approached us, after already talking to a club further north, we were as shocked as you guys about the offer, and were very interested in them if they were gonna leave. but luckily for you guys, you fixed the situation and along with some guilt trip phone calls you still have them... but why did they wanna go in the first place????? thats what i would be asking!!!

ohh panther, i have something for you, but i gotta go back to work.. stay in the leather chair!!

we could offer the same fuel offer for jono brown if he is willing to drive down every weekend and play, im sure bluesy could do the math and it would work out profitable for him

our club doesn't believe the TW clearance can be granted under residence rule, which one does still apply HS to stop this very thing from happening. we will bring it up at the next delegates meeting, we will see what transpires.

tips, all you need to say if people are having a go at your recruiting is, no new players each year, no club!! this was the problem when you had a b grade, but since then you have recruited very well and great flinders is a 6 team comp which is what we want. for how long i am not sure.

true jules!!!! and we've managed to keep alot of these recruits vs the ones that have left, usually if we get a full season out of a guy they tend to stay, except for timmy cauf but he's just a bit slack!!

what he is saying is that you would think its a bit risky to employ someone based solely on if they are going to play footy for your club and not based on the skill they have for what ever job they do...

Souths, Tasmans and Waybacks have been doing it for years. Hasn't won them to many flags
