How can you comment on coaches when you have been at 1 club your whole life? Has the score on the board with some very good players at MV, dare say alot of coaches could've done the same with the same players. He didn't have a impact at South and took Norwood 18's to 3rd bottom, still alot to prove to get to Malcom Blights status!

Didn't have an impact at South - he got a Reserves team of kids into the GF. If Pyman had listened to him a bit, things may have been better with the league team.
Norwood 18's won more than they should have with their list.
He arrived at Morphett Vale the year after they were a real chance to be relegated and built a team from local talented kids without recruiting outside the club. It might be a bit easier coaching them these days because of the work by Pottsy and Hilly in the past.
What about his flags with Plympton (4) and Christies Beach (1)? Not to mention a few others around the traps (Pinnaroo, Scotch O.C., West Adelaide 19's, Kangarilla).
I agree that cyclops is a bit over the top with the Malcom Blight comparison but the man can coach.

Trevor Potts took Bridgewater to the minor premiership in 1994, but possibly the best Raiders side ever assembled crashed out in straight sets ... 4 pts and 1 pts if my memory serves me well in the 2nd semi and prelim. Then had a stint at Blackwood so would be acquainted with Hills footy.

Also coached Plympton in SAAFL at one stage. Very thorough in everything he does, must have his name and the word COACH embroidered on the jacket or shirt, not sure if he's afraid of getting lost or not but a very quirky guy!

Can't say I was real impressed with Pott's at Norwood this year. Typical school teacher. Very organised but spoke in riddles. Will be watching with interest how he goes at Hahndorf. I'd think anything less than a grand final berth would be a failure.

Potts did a great job getting Morphies back to the top along with Hilly, very good pick up for Handorf i reckon,to say he didnt have a impact at South is wrong, took the Reserves to the grand final and coaching u18 at Norwood i would think that those in the know at the Redlegs would diifer on opinion with you as this age group is about developing senior players, maybe they dont have the talent in the Norwood zone that other clubs have,im not sure but his record as a coach speaks for itself i think
If the only reason you play is for a beer with your mates after the game, your playing for the wrong reasons !!

You might be getting a bit carried away with Trevor Potts. He's probably an ok coach but as previously stated he did coach Bridgewater when they had the best team in the comp and bombed out in straight sets in the finals, albeit close ones, and then he didn't have much success at Blackwood. Also not sure how old he is but must be around 60 and although age shall not weary them it must create some sort of generation gap.

That sure did happen monte but correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure most of if not all his success as a coach came after those failures which indicates he probably learnt something from them

What recruits points system does the HFL use? is it the same as most other leagues? And what is the most amount of good players could one team recruit in one year without going over the limit?
