As for Tim Aloisi - was he a little unlucky not to get BOG for the Lions? Seven goals out of 11 in a team that was well beaten would suggest he was better than third best...

what was that earlier comment... "no Aloisi no Peake"

yeah 7 of 11 is a good effort but i dont think just cause you kick 7 goals from around 10 or 12 kicks doesnt mean your best .
you've gota keep on keep'n on .........

Mallee Match Preview –18/8/2007

First Semi Final at Murrayville

BDT v Pinnaroo

An in form BDT take on an inconsistent Pinnaroo in the First Semi Final this week.
BDT have been improving each week and look to be playing their best football at the right time of the year. Clint Richardson is in doubt & Jarvis Webb will not play this week. Jack Zacker & Jarren Crabb will not be available from College unless BDT get through this week.
Lachlan & Josh Richardson are in good form in the midfield and will welcome the support of Mark Vandeleur & Luke Remfry who will return this week. Greg Nunan is strong up forward and compliments Shane Binns, Matt Schilling & Nathan Todd. Dustin Head is a good midfielder who can push forward & kick goals. Ben Hooper, Andrew Perry & Aaron Freeman are good rebounding defenders with Michael Brighton effective in attack or defence.
Pinnaroo are hard to assess. After big wins over Peake & Lameroo, they were outplayed by Murrayville last week. Matt Standley is a valuable inclusion late in the year and Jimmy Struck is a goal kicking small forward. Wade Nickolls is returning to top form with Chad Nickolls having a good year in ruck. Sunyl Vogt will need to be in his best form with Paul Pitkin & Leith Dabinett important in the midfield.
Brad Moyle & Heath Nickolls are reliable defenders, but Pinnaroo may lack rebound from defence.
The big Murrayville oval should suit BDT and they can win & advance further into the finals.

well.... the season is over for A graders at Peake (go you B graders, they are in for a shot at the flag I should think).
So I thought I would put my best and fairest prediction out there.... After having done some research and calculations on the internet this morning (heavily weighted by best players and the position finished within them) . I have come to the conclusion that Tim Aloisi will win the BF with close competition from Boothy.... Followed by a pack that sits a bit further back that consists of Holland, Pett and Diprose (not sure what order) with Marrett also in the mix.

Goodluck to all those playing Murrayville in the finals

I wouldn't have said predictable in the B grade... I would have thought borders would have won easily....Murrayville have looked pretty ordinary at times in the B's. Interesting to see Justin Bailey played B's....specially after kicking 7 in A's the week before....very interesting...

Sorry Floater - wasn't suggesting the B result was predictable. Only the As.

Interesting that Bailey played Bs. Weren't people questioning earlier in the ywear why he wasn't named in certain squads?

he's coming back from a broken ankle sustained in round 4 or 5 this year, has missed nearly 10 weeks of season. Tonight will be very internesting, i suggest Fenoughty to be up there with the likes of the usual vote getters such as Josh Richardson, Sunyn Vogt and rocket maynard...

Well there you go - seems fair to play him in the Bs then.

Fenoughty's had some big games towards the end of the season hasn't he. A good pick.
But will his team-mates pinch the votes?

Kevin Wyatt is a big ball winner for murrayville, he will collect votes also which may hurt Fenoughty. another one who has stepped up and gathered a couple of BOG's in the later rounds in Rian Crane... its a very hard one to predict, quite alot of talent in the league this year.

What do you guys think about the finals set-up with semis over two weekends?

The advantage of getting the double chance is off set for the loser of the second semi by the fact that it has to play the preliminary final a week later, while the team which finished below it has had a week's rest....

For my two bobs worth, I'm tipping The youngest of the Richardson Boys, Lachy to take the medal home. That would make a clean sweep for the Richardson Family over the past three years and one for each of the boys. That piece of information would be good for the new Mail Medal book.

Tied with Hawk Shaun Walker.

A good night for BDT.
Clayton Sporn (Mville) took out leading goal kicker over Shannon Wyatt (Mville). I think Josh Richardson (BDT) won the FlowFM award as well as Mail Medal, and Connor (BDT) won B-Grade Medal. Pretty reliable source but correct me if i'm wrong.
