But only if we become a member and sign in with a password???

Try clicking on detailed results - what a pain in the :butthead:

I hope that's a glitch.

Did Mitch Portlock have something to do with the design of the home page?

All leagues in Australia are starting to use the system, become a member and follow your club/s. Footy web gives all clubs a free website with a simple to use set-up. All registrations, results etc will be put through this site from now on.

So if I want to see who got BP's on the weekend I'll have to log in?

If you want to see the actual team sheets you need to log in, but its simple after you have joined up / registered.

If you just want to see the BP's & goal kickers you can view without logging in.

You can join up now by going to this page http://www.sportingpulse.com/mysport.cgi

Once you are a "member" the same login can be used for any league throughout Australia who are using Sportingpulse. In fact its the same set as you already see when go into the results pages for teams on the SANFL Website.

SFL started using it last season. You can see each teams goal kickers and Best Players for all clubs so you know who is performing. It also has each teams programmes with venues, times etc so people can check it out online if there are changes due to withdrawls etc after the official programmes have been printed.

Might be a dumb question... but...

Who is responsible for the updating - do the GSFL do it themselves or is there someone at 'Sporting Pulse' that gathers all the information?

Last season was the SFL's first year using Footyweb.
The info was supplied from both team managers to the home Secretary for typing into Footyweb.
We had the Home Team Secretary update the data for both the home and away teams via computer during the day. All the info had to be entered by 6pm.
The paperwork was then dropped into SFL Headquarters where the League Secretary checked the data entered against the paperwork before making the information available to view by the general public by late Sunday afternoon.

However, this season as we are now experienced with the system, the data entered will be made available for viewing by everyone on the Sat night.
Each Assoc has the choice of whether the information is available straight away or delayed.

If you are interested to have a look at an example from the SFL Page to see the layout, here is a link to the individual match results for a particular game eg. Flagstaff Hill V Noarlunga Round 20 2009 . It includes full team sheet listings, BP and goalkickers - this one you need to log in to see.
http://www.sportingpulse.com/round_info ... 1-0;pool=1

The link below is for the standard page which includes the full round of results from ALL clubs
ie Scores, Goal kickers and Best Players. At the top of page there is a selection tab for the particular grade you want to look at. You DON'T need to log in to see this one.

I thought Golding has signed to play with Noarlunga under coach Trevor Mitton?

I think a change in plans. Depends on interviews yesterday but sources close to the yetti cave suggest that Golding may still have strong coaching aspirations.
Until Cuzzy or Shoe Boy confirm......it still is a little birdy told me.

Matt has signed at the Shoe and is also assistant to T Mitton.
Last night Matt took the training for the night and also will be taking 4 more sessions in the pre season programme.
Yes I am sure he still aspires to coach in the future but for now the Shoe fits :)

Can anyone tell me how some of the other club decide what numbers players wear during games?

do they have numbers 1 - 30 for the A grade and 1 - 30 for the B grade? or do they have numbers 1 - 60 for both grades together ?

Flagstaff Hill have 1-25 in each grade. For established players the club orders their size when re-ordering sets. If a guernsey number becomes 'available' players can ask the Team Manager for it, but really it just depends on what number is available in a size that fits them for the new players to the team.

But what happens with fringe players going into the A grade? What number do they wear?

say they are a 150 game player and go up to the A's and one of the new A grade players have his number, what number does he wear?
