Lyrup were certainly the harder team out there. Made us look silly on a number of occasions.

Nah we lost the toss BC. We actually did really well against the breeze in 1st quarter, but couldn't capitalise.

Yeah, you did a good job in the first quarter. someone told me you guys won the toss and kicked into the breeze which I thought was a bit strange. I thought Kenny Karpany was BOG. What's the go with Lippis doing the chainsaw after he'd kick a goal? That guy is a dead set knob.

I thought Karpany was BOG too.
My top 5 were:
1. K. Karpany (L)
2. M. Miller (P)
3. N. Gregory (L)
4. D. Grenfell (L)
5. J. Marr (L)

Lippy is just Lippy

Lyrup's full back did a good job too. Number 3. Not sure of his name.

That's Grenfell. Played really well.
Fridge kicked 5, but Dave did a great job.

Commiserations BG.

Good to see my mate Mick Miller play well. Played well in a GF on the West Coast about 5 years ago so can turn it on for the big day.

Cheers mate.

Mick was sensational.
One of the best games I've seen him play.
He's committed to play for us again next year which is some bright news on an otherwise terrible weekend!

Was thinking Pete Smith would have gotten close to winning the Medal. Pretty heartbreaking to lose by 1 vote.

Is dillon millard the son of the big glenn millard? If so i'm guessing he is a pretty big solid boy. Haven't seen any barmera footy for other ten years so not up with players from that league.
Who does waikerie play in the gf this week and where is it played? Not much talk on here considering it is gf week. Also are the stevens boys still carving up for waikerie or getting a bit slower and even chirpier in there old days?

Yes, he is Snow's sun. Not massive but strongly built.
Waikerie plays Loxton North. Panthers hosting.
One Stevens, maybe two (one's been injured all year, was talk he'd play in the prelim. Someone who was there could tell you if he did, or not).
No, never much footy talk on here, usually blokes just getting on here to bitch, whinge and have a crack at others ;) Joking.

Should be a ripper game this Saturday. North have had a great season, although the end of the minor round was less than sensational. Booted 11 goals in the first quarter of the second semi to basically win the game.

Hard to pick, this game. I haven't seen enough footy this year to talk about talent.
Someone will have to watch Ferguson and Daniel Proud, while the Pickles Arnold Beaver Venning match up if it eventuates could be ripper.
Bratton and Braun the other big guns for the Mags.

I'm going to go for North. I'm leaving the Riverland this year and if you're a bit superstitious, they won the flag the first year I was in the region (1998). It'd be fitting if they won in my last.

BG, bad luck and a classy response on here to losing the GF.
Was hoping you'd get up.
Plenty of time yet for another and if you can convince a few of your mates to hit the gym with you, you might go even better next year.

How many premierships for Lippis now? Five? Where does that put him in the ranks of leading Independent premiership winners? Jimmy Wegener would probably have the most, as he played for Cobby during two good runs and played in one or two for Moorook.
Anyone else? I expect a former Wunkar/Brown's Well/ East Murray player might know the answer to that.

The most recent would be Brett Tschirpig with 8 - Loxton North (5) & Moorook Kingston (3).
Before that Terry Fisher with 9 - Barmera Monash (5) & Berri (4).

I cannot think of anyone in recent times apart from Lippis, not sure on Jim Wegener, I'll count them up and post.

Well spotted DW.

Jim Wegener has played in 8 premierships.
Cobdogla - (5) 1998, 1999, 2006, 2007, 2008.
Moorook - (3) 1992, 1993, 1994.

Cheers mate.
I hope to hit pre-season at the same weight I am now (82) rather than the 91 I hit it this year!

I've got 4 for Lippy (2011, 2009, 2004, 2001). Did he play in 1996 too?

No he didn't play in 1996, however Darrell Tilbrook did so he may be another to check on with Cobdogla and possibly Berri.
