Had a chat with Joe Pedler in London on the weekend and he's keen to start his coaching career at old iggies. He did bring up a curious point that he's spoken to a few old iggie students he taught and they are keen to play BUT they are also planning overseas trips midseason.

Seems the curse of the rich kids over seas trip will stirke iggies again next season.

Heard Iggies have signed ex Sturt Premiership full forward Stephen White, played at Goolwa this season and maybe another player from there. Not a bad Pick-up.

That player wouldn`t be Z Ewer or H Wilson by any chance.

White up front, Ewer & or Wilson in the Guts & Pedler down back! Handy Start for Iggies Recruiting staff

Spoke to a couple of Zac`s mates from Jervois on Saturday night and they were pretty sure he was staying at Goolwa.

who used to play at McLaren Vale and played at Mannum this year i think.

If so, how does he go and what position does he play?

Ewer and Wilson HAVE signed for Goolwa/Port Elliot and big Whitey (who i know very well) had made his decision to leave GPE in late September/early October, the main reason was the travel time (the big guy lives 90minutes away) and was offered the same amount of coin to play closer to home. As he was a contracted player for 2010, GPE have been paid out by his new club, plus some.

White is great mates with Simon Dennis, and i believe Alby helped with his decision to leave. His departure frees up 4 points and dollars to spend on a younger, more agile full forward, possibly a Trev Rigney who would be a better fit for the young Magpies side.

dont waste your time PC, showed signs of a player who is frustrated that his body can no longer do what his mind wills it to. Was a good player in his day, but his day has past

Gill is very injury prone, and would be i think a 4 pointer, i personally don't think he'd be worth the money.

Even worse then. And I think Victor has Ilijicsen (sp?) and Dale Ellis to play up forward, they'd have no reason to recruit Gill.

Ellis could be NFL bound! I reckon most GSFL backline players would rather play on Gill than Ellis anyway, Ellis is a man mountain. Gill looks soft as butter on tele

Gill would absolutely dominate the GSFL. Big, strong and moves well for a big man. He might be injury prone but these injuries could be carried in the GSFL. His only problem would be his inaccuracy, but i reckon he would generate plenty of shots. It would be interesting to know how many points each club has to play with. I think we have 10 or 11??

Right on the money there LF. I reckon gill would absolutely dominate, injuries wouldnt be a concern sitting up forward recieving from hodge all day. He would prob average 20 marks and 15 shots at goal per game.

Gill hs a cousin at Goolwa/Port Elliot, could that play a part in who he decides to play for in 2010??

I think he is up there with Perrie for the worst Crows forward ever...but still someone that has played AFL should and would get plenty of it in the GSFL. But even his goal kicking at training isn't flash!!
