how do hahndorf fans feel about the possible of now finishing outside the top 3?
Cant see Blackwood losing, and by the looks of Bridgewater, Mt Lofty could get an extremely handy percentage boost. A shock loss to Onkas could see them finish 4th.

mt lofty are a real threat as the result from the weekend shows, to all those who wrote them off beware. they will have to come from 4th spot but there is nothing between the top 4 teams and anything is possible.

Lofty probably should of won by more after being up by 5 goals
in the 2nd qtr hahndorf must of played a belter considering te outs they had Bartamucci, Nicholas, stephens, Raymond lomas, not a bad effort to come that close to winning

This seems to be the statement made after every Hahndorf loss or near miss but will this empty excuse continue to appear when the Hahndorf season comes to an end in a few weeks? I guess the Onkas game this week could go either way as the dogs have proven to be rather inconsistent and with the departing coach preparing for finals a little blind sighted anything could happen!!
Do the pies wanna declare any of the 5 or 6 standard outs before the event?

Interesting yes. Wouldnt both bridgies and birdy seem dissapointed with the results this year, especially for the amount of $$$ both clubs spent on gun recruits? Thoughts?

A post earlier said that the onkas coach left due to lack of support by the players, which ones? There seems to be some conflicting reports coming out about what happened, what are onkas looking for? From what I can see they need some more personel on field to combat the top 4, losing by 4 goals to the flag favourites doesn't seem to be too bad going into the finals...

Surely this has to be Bridgewater's worst loss for decades.

This surely has to be a wake up call to those making the important decisions.

I know of one Bridgewater sponsor who left at half time because of the scoreline.

i cant speak for bridgewater, but good on them for having a go at bringing in some quality recruits...

as for birdwood. first of all, we still dont spend money in the same ballpark as Hahndorf, blackwood and uraidla. But the recruits birdwood did bring in have been huge quality, and even though the year hasnt finished the way we wouldve liked, there's no doubt that birdwood have taken some big steps this year... and are certainly building a platform that we hope to build on for next year. we took it right up to uraidla, hahndorf and mt.lofty early in the year, and knocked off blackwood... which is a big step up from our first 2 years in central. we have an excellent crop of young locals who are growing in their A grade experience... scott friend, brett ancell, owen cannon, tom matters...
true we didnt make finals, which is of course always the aim... but definitely not dissapointed with the year.

"If" being the operative word in that last sentence magpiemaster! Are you trying to convince yourself of the fact that your Germans are a shoe-if for the premiership??? Because there's no point trying to convince us, there is no doubt Hahndorf are far from being in the box seat. With so many blokes out of the side this close to the finals, I can't see your boys getting fit, and therefore getting anywhere near this years flag.

One thing i do know for sure is that when you don't win the GF...and probably don't even make it in to the grand final there will be quite a number of red faces walking around your club. To not win the flag with that side, and with that much money would be a down right disgrace! The pressure is all on you blokes, and i dare say you'll crumble!

Magpiemaster you talk tend to post with an arrogance or even complaicency of a side that has actually achieved something already. Saturday's game meant nothing hey? If I was involved in a side that was playing the three time premier away from home two games out from finals, I would be very worried if even one of my teammates thought it meant nothing. And no team is that good that they can just rock up to a game and decide whether or not to play well as you are suggesting. I can't wait for finals. It is highly unlikely that Lofty will sneak into third (probably don't deserve to based on form), but I sort of like the idea of making a run at it from fourth.
