A touch ironic that blokes from Goolwa and the Creek don't want to talk about money...

Just stirring, but it is a part of footy these days and I think it's interesting how clubs manage it. WOW is right about the points system only inflating individual payments. Golly there is some big coin being offered around!!. I wonder wether 3 better than average recruits is better than 1 super star but clubs don't really have that option any more. It's a shame that Victor had to turn players away this year when you consider they only finished 5th.

from what i hear, victor will be begging for those blokes to come back next year. could be a mass walk out and a few retirments on the cards, also a few following harty to goolwa if the club can get them in under the points. Bays should announce their new coach end of the week and have signed a centre half foward and onballer from what i have heard around the traps

if each paid player at our club was happy for their payments to be discussed i would not be at all worried about making it public. The players we have would be getting no more than market value and the amount we pay in total not out of the ordinary. What is out of the ordinary is a sponsorship levels for the coming year. Some big names on board and even at this stage we will smash last years figures. Anyway i am to melboure for the cup. Enjoy your week at work

You really do post some absolute shit Cuzzy!!
As far as I know and fresh off a footy trip Victor are not begging anyone to come back or stay around. Its the opposite, coach Simmons has had guys call him saying they are coming back to play under him and also guys who may have thought about taking a step back and playing B grade or giving the game away are now counting down the sleeps to play under Simmo.
If Hearty was to goto Goolwa who will follow him??? Hearty is only sure of one thing for season 2010 and that is he WILL NOT coach bays!! No doubt he is considering all options and will assist to someone in the GSFL I would think..
Concentrate on your own club that was on a self distruct mission last year and now cant even get a local ex player to coach (yet he wants to coach).

(or more likely I will enjoy watching after playing B's) Zac as far as I know is on board but there would be plenty of clubs chasing him after the season he has just had. Last year we had 5 contracted players and I think every other player had a residential address in either Goolwa, Hindmarsh Island or Middleton so we're happy with that.

As for counting, that is something that I can do...and 6 is a lot when we are talking about premierships. Its about time we put an end to it? next years motto is "Bringing the run to an end in 2010!"

Few ladz from the SFL, seem to think Rigney is heading to goolwa next season to play with good mate Zac, deal as good as done ''apparently''. Talk is he isnt the only one of zacs mates that may be a magpie come 2010... If rumours are true LF, i would be getting Goolwa to sign these players asap.

Who coaches Goolwa these days??

Thomas $800/$1000

Portlock $700/$850
Steel see Thomas
Haskett see Hams + Thomas
Glass $550/$700
Mcgowan $550/$700
Carnavale,Genovese,Baxter pension + $300 =around $450
Mcdonald,Patterson,Alexopulus,Groom all be around $400 ish (Mclaren would pay double that for either of them)

Poses another interesting question, Micky.

HOW MUCH IS WILLUNGA PLAYING THEM ALL????????????????

Safe bet Yettie be around $250,000 per year

Good to see you back LF, for a minute i did think you might of headed down to the bridge.
Are you trying to can the convo before we bring up Goolwa & Trev Rigney.... $-) $-) Is Zac back on board?

Also heard Thomas from Willunga has been offered a s***t load from a hills side which would allow him to retire from footy & work by age 35!

You havent seen anything yet regarding players being offered massive amounts coin to play. In 2 or 3 years time when the points system starts to take shape it wont be out of the ordinary for a player to be on $1000+ a game. How do you keep your good locals then?? Player loyalty can only strech so far.

If they want to pay more than Willunga good on em just hope there schnitzel are tasty.

:-" :-" Wait & see i guess. One of the sticking points could be the hair. Probably need to visit something called a hair dresser?? & get a semi load of product for the hair. Both Chris & David Hams use a bit & would by in bulk, they probably get it cheaper than Woolworths & Coles, so i might see if they can put me on the right track!

Any EB players on here, I would be interested to hear your thoughts on Shane Mitchell leaving after 1 season. Did the club not decide to renew him or did he move off his own back. Is the club in a better spot 12 months on or not.......
Has anyone seen Sammy G, the KING of Teringie.

club decided not to renew him as far as i know. Mitchell had great ideas in developing junior kids for future years so the club may benifet from that in years to come.

I see in the latest Messenger Press (page 69) that Mt Compass has advertised for coaches in 2010

"Seeking applications for coaching positions of
A Grade, Reserves, Senior and Junior Colts
Closing date 13th November."

Is this a case of a club having to advertise each year, or what!!
