whats numeration?

Noun

numeration (plural numerations)

1. The act of counting or numbering things; enumeration
2. Any system of giving names to numbers

So:

1 = A Flag
2 = Back to Back
3 = Threepeat
4 = Grand Slam
5= Yahtzee
6 = Sixpack

& Damn that Pilmore - whats he ever done!

poses a interesting question,what would the market value be of Willunga's top ten (highest bidder in the state)
Thomas $800/$1000
Hams whatever he wanted & sauce with that.
Portlock $700/$850
Steel see Thomas
Haskett see Hams + Thomas
Glass $550/$700
Mcgowan $550/$700
Carnavale,Genovese,Baxter pension + $300 =around $450
Mcdonald,Patterson,Alexopulus,Groom all be around $400 ish (Mclaren would pay double that for either of them)

Put your hands up if you actually give a s**t how much players get paid in the GSFL and what individual clubs spend! In my time I would have played with some players on big $$$ but once you cross the white line in the heat of battle it doesnt mean a lot. Every club does it (some to a greater extent than others), but all clubs have a full contingent of junior teams and a large contingent of local players playing senior footy, so bolstering your player stocks both in numbers and quality in my opinion is ok. If your committee works hard to make money and chooses to spend it on players without neglecting the other areas of the club then so be it. As an example if Willunga paid every player in their team $1000 per game it would even be a concern? Their club runs smoothly and they have won 5 flags in a row. Can we talk about other stuff rather than money??

Come on LF, 'money' (AKA recruiting) is the biggest issue in footy at this time of year and you know it.

And it's 6.
6 in a row.

Agree LF, money is a part of our game whether we like it or not & unfortunately if you do not spend it then you will struggle. No point bagging clubs that have themselves in a position to spend up - I know if any football club in SA could spend a shiteload they would if in a position to - so yeah move on people it happens whether you like it or not. Fundraise your ass off with your club and then spend if you can I say!

Good to see you back LF, for a minute i did think you might of headed down to the bridge.
Are you trying to can the convo before we bring up Goolwa & Trev Rigney.... $-) $-) Is Zac back on board?

Also heard Thomas from Willunga has been offered a shit load from a hills side which would allow him to retire from footy & work by age 35!

You havent seen anything yet regarding players being offered massive amounts coin to play. In 2 or 3 years time when the points system starts to take shape it wont be out of the ordinary for a player to be on $1000+ a game. How do you keep your good locals then?? Player loyalty can only strech so far.

Have Goolwa lost any players for next season LF? More importantly, have they recruited any?

With the increased water flow down the Mighty Murray I am sure there will be a player or two washed down from further upstream.

WOW if we get Trev and I hope we do (not sure where discussions are at), I dont care what he gets paid. I will park myself at the top of the square and he can take hangers on me all day!!! (or more likely I will enjoy watching after playing B's) Zac as far as I know is on board but there would be plenty of clubs chasing him after the season he has just had. Last year we had 5 contracted players and I think every other player had a residential address in either Goolwa, Hindmarsh Island or Middleton so we're happy with that.

As for counting, that is something that I can do...and 6 is a lot when we are talking about premierships. Its about time we put an end to it? next years motto is "Bringing the run to an end in 2010!"

A touch ironic that blokes from Goolwa and the Creek don't want to talk about money...

Just stirring, but it is a part of footy these days and I think it's interesting how clubs manage it. WOW is right about the points system only inflating individual payments. Golly there is some big coin being offered around!!. I wonder wether 3 better than average recruits is better than 1 super star but clubs don't really have that option any more. It's a shame that Victor had to turn players away this year when you consider they only finished 5th.
