I think The Times team of the Year is pretty close.

Ellis for Brokenshire
possibly Sherwood for Cheetham. Other than that i think it's right.

Brokenshire more of a team player and more consistent.

I am not sure what Dr Mad Dog will say....perhaps Brokenshire is more of a team player because

1. He walks past everyone in the team (and says hello) to get to the start of his run up.
2. Politicians do it naturally
3. He is related to Teamwork
4. He is a local and Ellis comes from the big smoke
5. He gets paid less than Ellis

Brokenshire captain of Compass?? Genuine leader and puts his body on the line for the team week in, week out even as a 21/22 year old, more so than Ellis.

I wouldn't associate the words 'team player' with either Ellis or Brokenshire.

Im not sure the team of the year has a criteria 'is he nice to his teammates'

Ive never played with Nick but have found him to be good on the field, hes certainly a very dangerous matchup and in our loss to them this year he was the difference up forward, a young man by the name of Ziggy will be one to watch at the Dogs, hes a super talent.

I went away with Dale in July to the country champs and he was fantastic. His instructional voice in the forward lines was instrumental in our side winning the championships. Whilst playing for victor he was loud and instructed guys to fill space or indeed get out of it, sadly some people dont get the message.

Dales a big power forward, Brokenshire is a smaller lead up forward. 2 different players but both very handy and with Hamsy in the square already i guess it provides a better balance 'if' the side ever played, which it wont. Both deserve to be there!

What is the breakdown on team reps from this squad?

Brokenshire, team player! Good laugh that one is.

On another note where does Todd Dellatorre play these days?
Names like Melissa Johnson (Wimbledon), Blink 182 (Music Clip), Bruce McCauley (Cricket) and Helen D'Amico (Footy) these are the Real Hero's.

Definately can see that if the side ever played (and i think selectors look at it that way) that the better combination is that of Hams/Brokenshire. We know they won't ever play but the make-up of the team and inparticular the forward structure i think is better with Nick in there. Take nothing away from Ellis, great player and yes probably a little stiff not to be in the side but remember this is probably only the opinion of 1 or 2 people who get to publish their side in the Times. Many others will think differently.

Not too many Full Forwards are 10 out of 10 Team Players.
Comes with the territory. You got to have a bit of selfishness and you gotta kick goals as a full forward. No need to pass off when you are 35 metres out dead in front.

A draininge system was put in early this year to remove the surface water and avoid the bog heap that the oval was during late 08 season, i think this year the oval has held up rather well especially with the rainfall that we have had over winter. As for few sandy patches there needs to be some slack cut there as it is pretty hard for the grass to grow in these parts with continuos training and games being played.
I think you will see by next year it will be one of the best if not the best surfaces in the competition.

Yeah, fair enough, I'll givem the summer to get it right.
Must admit they had it the best i'd ever seen it 2 summers ago for cricket when it was senstional but then it went to shit in the winter and didn't recover.

re the team of the year:

you really could argue with a number of players. the team is the 'opinion' of the people associated with The Times. I would question whether those that argue about certain players whether they actually know the individual in question?

I would could argue in the reverse ... that each time I saw Victor player their forward didn't fire and that isn't to say he didn't have a god year!!

the great thing is that these articles create debates ...
anyway ... i'm tiredand could't be bothered typing let alone thinking any more :!!

4 good games at Pongy Tomorrow

U/14's Goolwa to get over the courageous Yankalilla in a tight game
U/17's Strathalbyn will beat Myponga. Unfortunately the Myponga boys have got a bit ahead of themselves and will be out in straight sets. Unless there is a heap of rain the Strath team will have too much pace and run.
Reserves and A's ....Hard to pick.
Depends on who Langhornes can put on the park
I think Langhornes will win both the A's and the Reserves

Noticed Moore & Feast named in the Times, fingers crossed both line up. Should be some great games tomorrow - hopefully it's not as windy as today but!

How so Yetti? I thought there was nothing between the top 4 in the 17's. Wouldn't say that have printed premiership t-shirts yet like some others....

WOW....would you get your lovely long locks removed when you made the finals, or would you wait until you actually won the GF?
Watching them at Yank on Saturday, there were a few individuals out there compared to the team (played good team footy) that flogged McLarens during the year.
