Absolute rubbish RR (Don't know why I am responding to an imposter!) No clearances in as yet. A couple in the wings but no certainties at this stage. Very much relying on the kids this year. My local far west mail indicates you may be overrating millard WCP but time will tell.

Bostons - Rhys Marsh, recruited from North Clare. Tom Edmonds has labelled him the Rolls Royce having seen him play for the last few seasons. Quality midfielder that has spent underage time with the Eagles in Adelaide.

Souths - Dylan Dunn, back home from Pt Magpies. Extremely talented young player who kicked a lot of goals for Ports u/19's. Souths may need him in the midfield this year bit wherever he plays he will go well.

Marble Range - Darren Francis, from the SE somewhere. A reported goal kicking machine who kicked 60 goals in about 8 games last year. Semmler rates him very highly.

Waybacks - The boys at the castle love to keep the brigde over the mote up this time of year with very little info escaping. I'm sure they have them lined up but I'll go with Clayton Millard who like Dunn has spent time with Port. Very tough inside player who is a ready made replacement for Horgan. Minya is also reported to be returning along with Dalton??????

Tasmans - Well I haven't heard of anyone new to the club!! They have a few u/17's coming up they will retain due to apprenticeships with KD.

Mallee Park - Who's the fox hat.......

Losses

Bostons - Dorza
Souths - Crouch
Marble Range - Rynne
Waybacks - Moore
Tasmans - Clements
Mallee - Wes Bilney

Feel free to add your thoughts
Pretty well nailed it there wcp...

I honestly think Marble Range will be light years ahead of the other teams this year.... Core group still together and unmatched depth.... Youngsters to only get better with experience....
The other 4 clubs should be fairly even behind.... Maybe Mallees to drop off a little but might still be still good enough later in the season to pinch a GF berth.... The Tigers (with or without a coach) to be up and running early and get vital wins on the board and sow uop a finals berth by mid season..... Waybacks are an unknown qauntity???? I invisage a patchy start to the season and a real battle late to make the finals but should sneak in.... while the Roosters can only improve and while I dont share all of RR's optimism I think a return to finals football is possible with early wins on the board....
And that leaves one team left

Good luck to all sides this season.....
Odds
MR $1.40
B $6
MP $6
W $8
T $12
LS $51

Our mail is that he is a good young lad who goes hard. Rohan S spoke very highly of him, but no expectations on him from our point of view.
We will be a bit like you ep, with a good bunch of young kids who we look forward to seeing.

we have a great blend of youth and experience and this is our best chance in 15 years to make a grand final.
have we decided on our leadership group yet troy? I was not that impressed with last years!

Eppie you say you are relying on the kids, are these the same kids that in the last few years couldnt win a game (under 14 and under 17) and were getting flogged each week?
wouldnt exactly fill me full of confidence.

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

Marty has been back and coaching for the last two weeks. Troy Hull also officially appointed as assistant coach. I already like the way Marty goes about preseason, not flogging us just giving us a gradual build up to Round 1 with plenty of strength work currently. Always pushes the importance of concentration and doing the simple things right. He wants the skills to be as sharp as we can the whole time we are out there.

Always happy to be wrong on the Millard front Barn, but my mail also comes from FW (opposition supporter)
Hi, My name is Ron 'Bluey' Dunn. Did you know I played in the 61 & 62 Tasman Premiership sides....

TFC 17's we pretty competitive last year. Had some good quality kids who will make the grade I am sure. 14's were a very good side last year and went within a whisker of a GF berth.

RESERVES

MR $2.00
T $2.00
Write your own the rest......lol

Seriously if I was to frame a market on reserves....
MR $2.20 ..... club depth always sees them competative in this grade. new coach only concern
T $2.50 ....killer bees.... the clubs pride and joy. people cue up to coach this team.
W $7...... competative at times but lacks depth of top 2
MP $8..... expected to be tested numbers wise . prepaired to risk
B $21 .... likely to not have the qaulity to worry the top 2 sides(would be $16 if they had a decent coach... )
LS $21 ..... not sure if coach appointed yet? maybe the GM might get a call....

I'm actually expecting our B's to be a lot better this year AG. Blokes like Chook, Dunny, Branno & myself who mainly played A's last year may well be back down for most of this year. Our losses have been minimal and we have quite a few gains. Jars is back on the track again this year and fingers crossed everything stays good for his young fella. Ben Engel will probably have a full season of B's and obviously with the additions the depth will be better. I'd be disappointed if we don't make the major round this year.

Any closer to a guide on Waybacks for the year Bish?

Agree with AG, MR & T will always be strong. I have heard that MR are beginning to weaken a little this year and they may have some difficulty getting sides without u/17 raids.

As I said a while ago, our depth will be considerably better this year than the last couple due to our off season recruiting. Good numbers at training so far is also a good indicator to me, in comparison to recent years. We will be a considerably younger and fitter side than previous seasons Im anticipating.

Ive seen a couple of lads training already that traditionally dont come out till mid march...all positives as far as Im concerned. We will go about our business quietly and not making the major round will be considered a failure.

I will admit we will lose some experience, but these blokes will give some quality advice from the hill :drinkers:

If you have those 3 lerking around the midfield with you up forward wcp I can see your point..... into B $12 now...
Rodda is keen for one last year and Gutzer Schrapel has been linked to a comeback... Forbesy is back in town and looks fit he might be able to hold down CHB..... Troy James and Northy on the wings and you have a nucleaus of a good side.... Gloyne to tag the oppositions best player... Gazza in the ruck and Bobby Mac in a pocket ..... Need an assistant coach wcp??

Into B $10
