i think it would be great to see the yank 14's get up over goolwa next week and play in a GF, how long has it been since any yank side has been in a GF???

Their A grade was in the GF about 10 years ago, would they have had any other grades in since then?

Creeks were missing 5 - 6 TOP players and were probably surprised to be so far up at 1/2 time.
Also probably dont quite have the self belief that they can beat Willunga when not at full strength.
No team is ever going to keep Willunga quiet for ALL 4 qtrs especially when not at full strength, unfortunatley for the Creeks, Willungas' ON qtr produced 8 goals to 1 which offset all the Creeks good work in winning the other 3.
Can only hope the Creeks get over Strath next week and then get at least 1 - 2 players back to challenge Willunga for the Flag Bcos Strath are NO chance against them.

I know it was Father's Day yesterday, but i thought that the crowd at Strath (considering they had teams in 3 grades) was very poor. To date i dont think that crowds would be any bigger than what you would see on a standard Saturday and they are not likely to be better next week because the Crows have the Saturday afternoon timeslot.

Just quietly any Jake McMillan critcs would be silenced today. Played an absolute blinder. I counted 19 of his marks, 13 contested and 2 goals. Senior colts alone is worth the entry fee.

The damage in the 3rd term could've been limited to 4 or 5 goals instead of 8, but in the last 10 mins of the quarter Creek gave away 2 50 mtr penalties that resulted in goals and a kickout went straight to the opposition late who converted. Several players out injured, but I don't believe the fat lady is singing just yet. She's warming up, but I reckon there's still a chance we can shut her up.

There was streakers at 3 qrtr time, very funny. One bloke didn't make it over the fence, got a bigger cheer from the crowd than any goal of the game! :D

anyone have any idea what compass were thinking putting a B grader (asher jacobs is a B Grader isnt he?) on the in-form player in the competition Marc Elliot? Biggest mis-match ive ever witnessed and belief belief. Kicked 6 and if he had more opportunities would have kicked 10. In the air, on the deck, on the lead totally outclassed and i actually felt sorry for the poor lad. What was steve samuels thinking? Pay the bloke some respect he has kicked 30 goals in his last 5 outings. I think some of samuels' coaching really hurt them yesterday.

By no means is the race for the flag over!

Strath and Langhornes have a massive rivalry and i look forward to this weeks game already. Myponga Oval will be a little heavy under foot which will aid Langhornes and their in and under players but with it being a large oval Straths pace will also be on show! Shaping to be a great game this week and could be anyones match! Both sides need a key forward to stand up and kick them a bag, Marc Elliot could prove to be the difference!

On Saturdays game. We went out there too pumped up, over committed to the contest and have learnt much, much more from the 2nd Semi than our Rd 18 clash! The moves Barry made at half time provided the foil, Wes Glass' 3rd quarter was amazing and everyone who got to see it was very fortunate!

Well done to the Little Demons on Saturday too, to beat the previously undefeated side in Goolwa was a huge effort. A tough ask to beat them twice in 3 weeks but i would assume Goolwa will be their next week and LFs boys will be looking for redemption.

mate normally when thing like this occur it's for reason. i think you'll find that the a grade at compass probably have 5 reserve grade players in it. I don'tthink they have the depth like other clubs! Compass definitely outclassed by the Roosters.

On a sour note ... the umpiring i saw at a recent C grade SFL game was better than the umpiring I witnessed yesterday!! I wonder if the will get dropped this week! 2 out of 10 for a score and the 2 was for 'looking' like umpires!

again i quote: The Roosters still beat the bulldogs!

Totally agree with ya LF on Jake Mcmillan. The kid was the difference. He works hard for a young kid & as for just bombing it, he didnt waste to many possies.

Only saw til half time of the A's but Felipe was great to watch.
Also was Portlock injured cause he spent alot of time in the forward pocket??

Yep Barry's moves at half time were match winning.
1. Portlock out of the middle into a forward pocket. Portlock had been towelled up by a very tight tagger and had very little influence in the first half. Mitch managed to kick an important goal in the premiershio quarter.
2. Haskett onto the ball. Showed some strength in the ball ups and gave Baxter (who had been Willunga's best by a mile) some support. He got the first 3 clearances after half time.
3. McGowan spent a heap more time in the on ball rotations.
4. Hams just sat in the square and opened up the forward line for Glass, Portlock and McDonald to run into.....unchecked. Hams then 3 goials in the last half
5. A bit fitter than Langhornes.

Disagree with your other point about being "Too pumped up", BJ
Langhornes Creek were switched on and focussed. Willunga were waiting for someone else to do the work. If it wasn't for Ben Baxter Willunga would have been 6 or 8 goals down at half time.
Felipe Hill was sensational in the second term

A couple of observations.
Langhornes Creek had a real crack but celebrated at half time instead of full time
James and Tim Follet off during the last quarter...maybe injured
Adam Carnevale looked as if he had has a massive knee brace on....I don,t know the story there.
Simmo outcoached Pilmore in the first half ....with match ups and player intensity. Pilmore reversed it in the second half.
Two streakers from KAPUNDA were great entertainment. The nuggetty bloke could not leap the fence and would have needed to rest the Crown Jewels Sat night. They ran behind a 4X4 and put some clothes on. Cops arrived 25 minutes later so they were safe.

Compass out in Straight sets.
I can remember them getting flogged at Yankalilla last year by Strathalbyn. Same team and same result this year.

Good observations there Yetti. Despite the loss I reckon the Creek got out of it what they needed to though, they showed that their best footy is still good enough to take it up to Willunga regardless of injuries. If they would've coped another 10 goal belting it would've been very hard to bounce back from that.

It's all beside the point though, there is a red hot Strathalbyn lying it wait this Saturday who would love nothing more than to knock the Creek out! That's this weeks focus now.

Strath are red-hot. Their forward line was labelled as impotent earlier in the year, different story now with Pegler & Elliot the main focal points and both very hard to match up on, plus their midfielders run hard into attack and kick lots of goals also.
It will be a battle of the midfields, whoever can supply their forwards with enough of the ball will get the upper hand. Strath are going along too well at the moment to discount, but they'll be praying this rain subsides during the week.
