This player wouldn't be a T. Matoga would it? Starved of opportunities is far from what I could call the truth if it is that player. As for Div 2, If ya not doing a lot in Central Division, you can forget making an A grade spot in D2 amateurs.

I think you have the wrong bloke - guy hasnt missed a A grade game all year from what ive seen

Matoga has played all but 1 game this year, so I'm not sure if I have the wrong guy, especially if ya talking about Payneham Footy Club. he has a mate out there. Matoga goes well at Birdwood IMO, he just needs to loosen up and not try and take on all 18 opposition players at once. I think it's a case of low on confidence for him, when he should be embrasing all the older recruits who have come into the side to give blokes like him and other young lads, the confidence to add to his game.

lately there have been alot of connections between Birdwood and Payneham lately ? will let informer answer this

my tips

Hahndorf v Mt. Lofty - Hahndorf in a close one
Bridgewater v Blackwood - Blackwood easy
Uraidla Dist. v Onka Valley - Uraidla comfortable
Mt. Barker v Ironbank - Mt barker comfortable
Lobethal v Birdwood - Birdwood easy

jail bird you have had plenty of juniors for years!!! From an outsiders perspective i would think its not got to do with the number of juniors but the conversion of juniors to seniors! seems like in mt. barker they are more interested in pretending they're in the ghetto and knocking up there underage girlfriends than continuing on with footy! so only time will tell if you do establish a div 2 side as well! Would be a big boost to the div 2 comp with callington dwindling!

No more talk about bridgewater, your gonna finish 5th  .. its gettin painful to read ;) , lets talk about hahndorf lofty clash, at the home of football, should be a tight tussle, hahndorf to get the choccys, to big to strong, to good i would of thought, will be good to get out and see them go at saturday.. hopefully good weather and skills can be shown off..

heard a rumour from robby that pistola might be getting dropped due to discplinary reasons, missed a game last week to be in melbourne with his hugs and kisses... not acceptable i would of thought, gun player when he isnt on his missus leash!!!
for lofty to win pistola needs to kick a bag, and bartemucci needs to be kept to anything under 40 touches!!!

Yep Mt Barker have always had plenty of juniors & they do a great job (like many other clubs) supplying a game to all those youngsters. Junior footy in the hills in thriving at the moment! Converting those junors to seniors has also been displayed this yr with about 17 players each wk playing in the A grade side that have played in underage teams for Barker in the past.
I think fielding a country div side is a fair way off yet. Despite the population of barker, it is central to most other hills towns & very accessable from town, so just living in the town wont mean you'll play for them. Blackwood are basically in the city & even with huge no.s reverted back to Central div only.
Footy aint for everyone ... some might enjoy the ghetto :)

I reckon any side with 8 key players out due to injury can legitimately use that as a "reason" for underperforming. Mick Malthouse even said it a few weeks ago and if it's good enough for an AFL team then surely it's even more valid for Hills Footy. Reasons and excuses are different.
There are reasons each week for why a team won or lost and having 8 better players out is a reason why they got pumped.

Did Bridgy have any players out on the weekend Country Vic? looks like they got a fair pasting. Are the lads a little worried about the next two matches after the weekends result.

We had a couple out but wouldn't dare use it as an excuse ;) We were with them at 1/4 time but unfortunately couldn't keep the pace up for all 4. As i said in an earlier post Hahndork really impressed me with their overall game, a very even performance.

Not worried about the next 2 weeks, clearly they are 2 of the best sides going around but it'll be good to see how our boys go against them. Always up for a challenge and it doesn't get much more challenging then the next 2. I think the players will be pretty keen to get out there and put in a good showing after the weekend gone.

Would have thought with the money spent this year Bridgewater should have been pushing for a finals spot. People around the place must be a little disapointed with the results so far.[/quote]

Ball hog when r u guna stop running ya mouth off about bridgewater! ud think after "leaving the club to win a game" and not actually winning a game ud shut up a bit! mabye concentrate on winning a game out there!

I still love the Bridgy footy club and as I've said I hope the recruits stick around because they can all play football and they are still all young.

Roosters in a comfortable win today by about 14 goals in the Pfieffer Sziller cup (or however you spell there names)! Kriegy walked away with the "Jenkin" medal.

I heard today that all player payments at Lobey had been stopped and that the president blasted the players and coach without the coach knowing beforehand. Doesn't seem like the way to build positivity and good feeling around the club... would just piss me off I'd think...

having said that i don't know exactly what happened. Anyone care to elaborate?
