What's the go with Manfield?

HIs missus left him last year is that right?

That had him off the field for a bit?

Or is that all just rumour and he was just injured?

Such a good player, great bloke and can knock back a beer or two with great haste.

Go the great Gull!

[quote="Scout"]Roos will win the flag with or without Smith with the number of guys they are signing. Prokopec out with a knee recon, who will challenge the South..??? please be serious.[quote]

So what your saying here is that with Prokopec having a knee recon North will not win the flag and as for the other teams in the comp they have no chance ???
I think West might have something to say about that dont you think.
From what i'm hearing West are recruiting themselves and shouldnt be erased from the premiership equation.
Its quite obvious that Waylon will bring alot of enthusiasm back to the Roo's but ive heard that at the moment they have only signed 2 players which are James Van Hoof and Peter Usher.
Now I dont profess to being a footy genius but that to me doesnt seem like the premiership sewn up.
Time may prove me wrong tho.

Time may prove either of you wrong.
Or right.
West always seem to slink around under the radar.

Exactly right.
No one can say with any great confidence what will happen in 2009
No one would have predicted Norths to win in 2008.
But if the players that Roo's look like getting they will definately be a force !!!!

Word is that North Whyalla have signed another bloke by the name of Russell Tucker who is moving here from Strathalbyn.
Apparently a half forward type player that made the Great Southern League Assoc. team in 2007.
Anyone heard any of this or is it just another rumour???

His girlfriend is teaching in Whyalla with Prokopec. I know that he has been in his ear, but I don't think he's signed yet.

Looks as if Roopena are very close to signing Matt Oliver
and Phil Smith.

Both are 100 goal a year full forwards in stronger leagues so very handy recruits
if they do sign.

Surely the salary cap will come into question if they sign both of these players as they wont be coming to Whyalla for there undenialable love for Waylon !!!!
Massive signings if they get both one would surley be enough.

Does a lad named Damien Pietuch still play in this league? He spent a season or two with us and was a top bloke and a handy player.

Obviously they will have to pay Oliver a decent amount as he will be travelling every week but i think you will find that Smith just wants to move home to Whyalla and the club are helping him get a job.

If Smith lives in Whyalla he will not play for anyone but Roopena as this is his old club
and waylon is one of his best mates so i dont think money is an issue.
