Not too sure on that LF! Compass are a good side and matched Langhornes Creek most of the way. Strath have done very little wrong in the last half although their big man dept is a bit lean and that will hurt big time from now on.
Not sure if the fact that Willunga B's are out will have any impact...it might

Five big names there LF. And five good players. Heard that Murgatroyd's knee is shot to pieces and won't be playing, and Follet is doubtful. No idea about the other three.

How hard is it for the league to swap this weekends venues so no side is advantaged with a home final like Strath this Sunday? Common sense should prevail and the swap easily made!

Sorry mate my source is unreliable at best.. :drinkers: . Told me Sammy Alphabet was a bit crook.

I think its good that the league will keep the finals the same regardless. Swap made easily BJ? Mate, is it time you gave something back to the club you've taken $o much from, dont be scared to get your hands dirty mate ;)

Thats true GN, but the way I see it after a full season and 1 week of finals

Creek - injuries and less form than 5 weeks ago and a recent loss by plenty to Willunga. semmingly not peaking
Compass - playing to their potential and doing well, the weather helped on the weekend, but who can kick goals (Brokenshire on fire and Burdett dangerous but that is it). Bailey needs to be thrown forward but that takes away a good defender. what key defenders will stop Hams / Thomas?
Strath - best running side, but a severe lack of "big" men. Elliot is a revelation but i think the secret is out

In my opinion it's a two horse race between Willunga & Strath. They have the match-winners to go with the Demons - Their only vulnerablility is the lack of big men. I think we'll see a rematch of the '08 grand final at McLarens on GF day, and i think the Roosters are a big chance if they can produce their best on the day. They proved that a few weeks back when only beaten by the Demons by a few kicks.

Creeks have the talent but haven't clicked, and will need to do something drastic to change that in the coming weeks if they are going to feature in the finals.

Compass had their chance to beat the Creeks, and I would suspect would be dirty on themselves for not taking the opportunity in the last quarter, especially considering they are renowned for big last quarters.

For mine it will be -
Willunga beat Creeks, Strath beat Compass this week.
Strath beat Creeks in prelim.
Not prepared to pick between Strath & Will in the GF. Strath are in ominous form and would provide the best tussle for the Demons.

After round Four where they really gave Willunga a fright I would have thought those two teams were the Grand Finalists. They had recruited well with the 2 Ellis Boys, Joras, and Pitman....2 good forwards, Another gun midfielder to go with Hodgy in Luke Ellis and Joras a real utility, who can play anywhere.

Not sure about reasons behind Victors second half of the year, but i think/know Langhornes, Strath and Compass all had relatively slow starts to the year and definately lifted the standard of footy when they got going. On any sides day, there really wasn't too much between the top 7 sides this year, i just think the top 4 were a lot more consistant. Injuries played a part and always will, but the 4 sides left are the 4 most deserving and have been the best four sides for the majority of the year.

Are you taking the pi$$??
McLaren & Goolwa were 5 games off 5th spot.

You can't use injuries as an excuse. Injuries affect all sides (YES - Including those that are in the top 4) It just depends on whether you have the depth to cover them.

So Dodgingandweaving you are saying Compass out in straight sets. Their finals record will be looking ordinary over the last 3 years

Strath are finding some great form, Compass just looked a little slow and may pay the ultimate price for not taking their opportunity last week against a relatively ordinary looking Creeks.

Hard to disagree. Neither side impressed last week and had they played Willunga i dare say the margin would have been 10+ goals.

It was wet before the Creeks V Compass game but only rained for a short period of time during the A's, and it certainly wasn't your typical wet weather footy. Although the scoreboard, and a few instances of errant skills might've suggested otherwise.

Have to disagree DandW.
Strath Lost in round 16 to Willunga and round 17 to Compass and since have beat Myponga and then Victor in last weeks elimination. Not good form

Comp V Strath will be the most interesting of the two clashes in my opinion. Two very different sides.
Strath were unlucky not to get the points at Compass a few weeks back in blustery conditions. If the weather is kind Strath will destroy them.

If the weather comes then it'll be very much in Compass' favour. Anyone got a forecast?
