They will need to get some new ones as Graham Cooke has gone back to Gawler Centrals, Ben Dyda one of last years guns moving on to Flinders Park and their Full Back Nathan Hart going up to the hills league.

All These guys played Key positions last year and would need to be replaced. That roughly equates to 1) Ruckman, 2) Centre Half Forward and 3) Full Back.

Yeah believe his kids are at Two Wells, he even turned out for a Reserves game last year, I'm told he applied for the Coaching job without success, nice bloke.

As far as doing some damage, i think he's forty years old, not sure how much damage he could do at that age, i's a fast game out here on the plains.

Its been a very long time since leon played for the legs, he played for quite a few years in pirie, very hairy man with a huge amount of sweat. He was well rounded when I last saw him so good to hear he's shed some kilo's - I would say he'd be more suited to ressies or coaching now a days as a few years back he'd slowed right down. He will bring something to the club though in a footballing sense and great that he has his kids there, thats what clubs want, family atmosphere.

G COOKE back playing at gawler centrals has more to do with DUI. no lic. not wanted. he was pissed every Friday night last season. Ben 10 - 15kg over weight and cant kick . Nathan hart! gun  more suited to div 4. A very lean fit mark pap has not missed a training session. 8)

Its been a while gents! Great to see the rumour mill back in full swing with some real quality coming from quality sources. The biggest one of them all, one Josh Hollitt! Can be confirmed has parted ways with the magpies. Certainly no hard feelings from anybody at Mallala, Josh has been absolutely magnificent for the magpies over the past 7 seasons and what better way to repay a club in your last season, than to win the brownlow, norm smith and the ultimate prize. Credit to ya Hollitt, lovin your work mate.

United again will have to start favourites again this year, plenty of rumours of who has left, but i can assure you that allthe big guns will line up again this year except C Callyn.
Che, Pauly, Schubby, Willy will all be there so we can expect an angry tiger this year with a bit of extra bite dare i say it. Throw in Q Graham and Sam Mc Ardle makes from a pretty impressive line up again this year.

My contribution for todays rumour mill is an oldie but a goodie, heard again on Monday from a solid source. Balak's biggest "Whisky" consumer offered 1G per game at Moonta. Ripleys Believe it or Not?? Not, for mind!!!!!!

Swamp Donkey you are close to the mark with Moonta's offer to Walks, he has knocked back $700 plus incentives to stay loyal to the Peckers. They may have upped the offer but the Big Man will be leading from the front at Balak for sure.

Yep, Stephen Fitzgerald is the coach of the roosters in 2008, He Coached most of our blokes through their developmental stages and the younger lads know him real well and would run through a brik wall for him.

He has also been the Gawler districts Super Rules coach for a few years now and has reasonable success with them, but i don't know how much coaching goes on for the old timers.

Fair to say that everyone at Two Wells is excited about his appointment and he has set about his task with fierce passion and a few of the old favourite tricks like Beep tests, time trials and running, running, running, haven't touched the aggot yet!

The Balak Peckers will be in a new strip this season. Still Green & Gold but in a new design.

Not too many people i know could really give a stuff what they wear! Is it to boost merchandise sales?? Whats the point really, when you have such a traditional club? I'd be devastated if we changed jumpers, as our club is proud of its history and the fact that the same jumper that blokes wore 70 years ago is still being worn today!! Not too sure what is being achieved by changing it :? :? :?

Spot on. Very hard to change a jumper once some tradition has been instilled into the club. I have seen some of the designs proposed, but they look a little cartooney for me though.
PS: Donkey, I know where Johnny Palmer is and by the sounds of it he is about to be returned to his rightful home near the water tower.

My guess is that he's on the end of a soldering iron in some dodgey trophy repair joint in Hamley Bridge. Im glad his heart still beats as there was word he was misplaced by a careless, ungrateful, red-capped previous owner, where's the respect for the great man.
There'll always be a bed at my place for Johnny Palmer!

The red caps are probably hoping they win Johnny again so they don't have to search too hard.
Any tips on who will be the frontrunners this year. My guess is that Two Wells will be the big improvers with plenty of recruting going on. Hummocks to be around the mark with Balak as always whilst United and Mallala should be up there again. You never know what Virginia are going to throw up from one year to the next either. Hamley Bridge appear to have lost their best 3 players (Harvey, Byster, Lowe) so you wouldn't expect them to be anything special.

All that being said there are 6 genuine chances with only 4 finals spots which will make for a very interesting and hotly contested season.

Rooster - Shaun Nicholas that you guys recruited, is he the same bloke that played for Virginia about 4 years ago. If it is thats a very handy pickup!

Not sure what the Hamley recruiting officer has been doing over the summer, but it seems as though they have missed out on signing thier golden boy, Luke Slattery for 2008. Surprisingly he seems to have pulled the pin from Port Magpies and has been cleared to Torrens Valley, presumably to play with another ex-bomber Chinny Young. He certainly would have bolstered the stocks in bomberland. Handy pickup for the premiers in Hills though

Johnny will be at Mallala on Saturday, there is no doubt about that. As I have other commitments Saturday I won't be able to catch up with Mr. Palmer myself so perhaps you could say gday for me donkey. That is if the Red Caps don't catch up with him first and keep him in hiding for another 12 months.
All the best
