slipper, you seem to be in the know re Willaston. Shaun Baker won the medal last year & all we ever heard about was how good he was. This year all we hear is the negative stuff, is he getting a kick at least?

I do spend some of time around the club John... Last year he was awesome. This year he seems to be getting tagged week in week out. He is fitter though. So he is getting the footy but probably not as much as he wants. I think it has hurt his confidence.

Question for anyone who knows, where do towns like Greenock and Roseworthy fit into the population allocation for clubs. Greenock looks like it is about expand very rapidly which would probably bring players to some clubs and there is also a lot of development at Roseworthy.

Who will win this week

South Gawler vs Gawler Central
Angaston vs Kapunda
Freeling vs Willaston
Barossa District vs Nuriootpa

On the grape vine I was told David Coombs was kicked out of south due to not doing the warm down with the team after the game last week. Lets hope this one is true.

I'm going with South - its at home and they need to rise to the occasion against their rivals. Kapunda - they're on a roll. Willaston - i dont think they will lose to Freeling, they are terrible. Barossa - will bring Nuri back to earth...

Rupert, the lions lacked a bit of ticker when it counted against Nuri... Gibson was probably the difference in the last quarter and the lions wasted a lot of opportunties throuhgout the game. As for finals - a lot of results keep falling their way so they are still a chance, however they would want to improve if they dont want to just make up the numbers come september...

Greenock (urban pop 684-2006 census) is generally assigned to Nuriootpa, however there is some leakage to Freeling and Kapunda. It is an enclave within the greater Nuriootpa SSD.
Roseworthy (area pop 1163) is generally aligned to Freeling, but due to its 'dormitory' nature there is leakage to Gawler and Adelaide Plains.

Quote from this weeks misleader re South/Nuri game by Coach Herzick " I'm very frustrated at the present. We are so inconsistent and to make it worse you see players walking off the field after a loss smiling and joking. You can;t instil a desire and want to win. Players need to find that on their own. I'm going to have to keep persisting with our kids and see if we can set up for next year"

Tex not a good sign coming from the coach or trying to ignite a flame witht the players?

Gawler Central just, can't afford to let another slip if they a) want a chance at second spot and b) don't want to get involved in the fight for a finals spot. A lot of pressure is on Central to win this game. They don't have an easy run home and could lose every game (well perhaps not Willaston but) and be knocked out. (Barossa, Nuri, Bye, Kapunda, Willaston for them ahead)
Angaston and Kapunda, will be a classic game, at Angaston could give them an edge, but Kapunda are on a roll. Angaston coming off a big high will need to be focussed but I think Kapunda just but it won't be a high scoring game, will be decided by under 2 goals
Freeling to end the nightmare at Donnybrook land, or will it ignite the nightmare
Barossa Districts, but they will not want to take this game lightly, being at Williamstown, probably helps Nuri more but it will be Barossa to secure second spot.

Non chosen with any confidence at all!!!!!!!

But if all that happens the final four is a little clearer, but I still get the feeliing that Saturday night is going to throw more cats in amongst the pigeons!

Blockie, you would have seen his anitcs against tanunda ie; not even leaving the coaches box at quarter time. Do you think he's smart enough to try and ignite a flame with his Lions? or are they a childproof lighter?

Maybe the coach should work on getting players to train twice a week first and then he might be sending the right message to his players no point being frustrated if he has caused the problems. After the barossa game i heard that coombs had it out with the coach and i believe coombs is now no where to be seen a bit late though

I have it from a very good source that David 'cancer' Coombs is no longer welcome down at Eldred Riggs Reserve. It really does seem that everything this guy is associated with turns to the preverbial... Hopefully the lions can regain some focus and make a good run for the 4... they have been out of the September action for far too long...

For mine, I think they may unsettle Centrals this weekend...

South v GC
Nuri V Barossa
Willaston v Freeling
Ang v Kap

Like you blockie I pick these winners not expecting to get 4 out of 4. Very tight round that will still leave us scratching out heads on Sat night wondering about that 4th spot & maybe 3rd if GC go down. I think the only certainty is Barossa who will bring nuri's run to an end, at some stage nuri face the blockies again so I think they are stuffed for 4th spot. This coombs crap seems to be still going on, I thought they dumped him a few weeks ago and now we hear they have dumped him again (hopefully for good this time). Ango v Kap, this should be a ripper, both sides will battle it out to the end for that ellusive 4th spot.

went *& watched the angaston vs Nuri over 35's game the other week. It was preety cool to see some of Nuri's players from their premiership years take the field along with Scott Lee, it drew a pretty decent crowd for an old fogies game. Should we be playing some B,L&G games on Sunday's when the afl draw is favourable? & are friday night games a possibilty down the track to spice things up?
