VICTOR HARBOUR 19-8 .d. GOOLWA/PT ELLIOT 10-10
STRATHALBYN 23-18 .d. ENCOUNTER BAY 3-3

The most suprising result from today, hopefully not a miss print!!

Reserves
YANKALILLA 8-5-53 Drew WILLUNGA 5-23-53

Ok so it was 28 scoring shots to 13, but well done to the Yank lads!!

If you look at the scores of Yanks B grade they have been stiff in a few.Mclaren only won by a couple and then yesterday draw with Willunga.Hope they keep their heads up as they arnt that far away.

Definately agree, the reserves is quite a close competition depending on whether teams like Yank have a full side or not. With their A grade winless, great to see the reserves still having the numbers and depth to match it with the top sides. Very healthy for the club and league.

Some good points Damian, any of the top 4 could win it i think maybe top5,not sure who is 5th but Willunga and Langhorns seem to be the favourites i think

From the weekends game our B grade side was struggling for numbers and were missing up to 15-16 players. Bad kicking is bad football though and both senior grades were guilty of poor kicking for goal. Our game fizzed a bit, the Tigers scrapped and scragged us and at times we broke free of this but all in all we got the 2 points and move on to Goolwa this week.

Langhorne Creek defeating Compass easily and Victor Harbor giving Goolwa a touch up were a bit surprising, i expected both games to be much closer. Impressive form a month out from finals by both Victor and Langhornes.

Well done to Yank great Bobby Willis who retired on Saturday. A reliable defender that the Tigers will miss. Both teams lined up after the match and gave him a huge round of applause as he was chaired off the field. Well done Bobby, a champion of the GSFL! :ymapplause:

So from the results of this week you would say the top 5 is all set and can now start to look to finals footy.
Creek seem to be is great form and playing consistant footy, Willunga are not peaking just yet but showed against Victor that they are well and truly gearing up to peak for finals and Compass, Strath and Victor need to find some consistant good form if they want to provide competition to the league leaders come September.

Its hard to put a good side on the park with so many out.Your B grade at full strength are a good unit also well done to Steve Walker on 150 games for Mclaren, only played for the 1 club which i think is great
If the only reason you play is for a beer with your mates after the game, your playing for the wrong reasons !!

Well done Bobby. Not only is the guy a champ but he could play footy as well. Wouldn't be a posistion on the ground he could not play. I'd imagine hes as good as yanks had for along time =D> =D>
Saw pongy play mclarens on the weekend in a scrappy game. Bad turnovers in the back half hurt pongys chances of winning, Mclarens controlled the game most of the day. Im not an ump basher because they've got a tough job but they were terrible on the weekend. When you see players looking around wondering whos free kick it is, on several occassions, you know it aint good.

bays got smashed by strath, strath way to many little blokes getting clearances and running all day. interesting to see RMFL umpires umpiring the game at strath, is this a regular thing out there?

Funny you should mention the umpires wow, ours made some of the most bizarre decisions I have seen in a game of footy. Luke Ellis gave a free kick to us in the centre square for "time wasting" because he said to the ump that we had too many in the square. It would have wasted about 1.26 seconds. It was also strange that the umpires on several occasions during the match had enough time to have 'presonal' jovial conversations with VH players. Dont like seeing that (no affect on the result)

Could have won almost footy legends x2. The VH junior colts centre bounce set was something that i have never seen and gave us a good laugh. Started and played the whole game without a forward and had 10 - 14 players charging in off the back of the square only to 6 Goolwa forwards free and the boundary umpire in the A's who threw the ball in the wrong way and hit the scoreboard. Couldnt do it again if he tried.
You can love football, but it wont always love you back!

I forgot about the boundary ump doing that LF we all had a gd laugh about it.
On another thing lads LF is a man of his word, he told me to meet him on the outer wing half way through the second Qtr to pass on some vital info and half way through the secon LF went streaming past and passed on the infor required.

watched v/harbour vs goolwa on the weekend in which i thought was a pretty close game until half way thru the 3rd.good to see all the x-m/vale boys do really well,s.joraslafsky in the ruck just busted his arse all day and must be a big chance for the medal at seasons end,i thought he was gona explode at the in the first half which would be scary for all.how zac ewer did not get best for goolwa was astonishing as he was clearly by the length of the straight there best by a mile, but zac does need sum helpers,he must have one of the best kicks goin around.
