I am interested in safooty's members thoughts on the broader issue of former coaches trying to pilfer former clubs... not where players want to leave, but blantant attempts at pilferring.

Not too sure, at this stage there is supposed to be about 11 recruits but I'm not too sure on the local/import ratio, Prouse is keeping his recruiting very tight to his chest, especially on imports. From what I can gather Taylor would be their last import spot. Lets not forget that about 12 players have moved on so Prouse has to recruit a reasonable number to cover them. Looks as though the squad is coming along well though and will be more competitive than last year, reasonable numbers at training (approx 30) which is far higher than previous years.

2 imports confirmed, the other 3 are on the boil, Taylor in the mix, 2 or 3 moved into town as locals

You have got to be kidding LC, this lad is an out and out champ when it comes to country footy. No surprises that league clubs where looking at him this year, he will never make it at a league level due to some discipline reasons. The guy is a gun at both on and above ground level. LC you pretend that you are expert on this site but with statement you have lost some serious credability with me.

Swooper, before you get carried away on your little high horse there mate.... Does It say I dont think Wells is a good player... No it doesnt... I was merely trying to highlight the fact that just about any ruckman would look that little bit better if they were tapping it down the throat of the Tanunda midfield...

And just for the record, never said I was an expert, never pretended to be either mate, just give MY opinion, doesnt mean its right or wrong swooper, its just an opinion.

And I dont give a shit what credability I hold with you or anyone else on here.... :)

Didn’t need a game plan at Nuri then, Father Christmas could have coached those premierships. With the success he once had, this also brings back memories of the glory days. Good numbers on the track with some locals returning.
Swamp – His 90’s side was about a dominant as your side a couple of years ago, but they done this for about 6 or 7 consecutive years. What sort of impression did he leave at your club?

Yeah right thats a fair effort in itself though, holding together a team of that quality for that long.
Stafford was certainly a quality footy coach and he developed a few young kids at mallala really well. Was the coach who really turned Mallala into a hard running, skillful side that they have been over recent years. He was definately an awesome coach, but it was just very disappointing the way he left. He quit after the 1st game of the season after a solid preseason (mid Nov)
I can see both sides. I mean he quit because he had lost his passion and hunger apparently, but from a players perspective it was disappointing particularly after such a strong preseason. i find it hard to believe that passion can be lost in one game and if it wasnt then why did he make the call earlier before the season started? Everyones moved on now though, and I think Mallala play Nuri in a trial on the 4th of April which will be fun!

Daysofourlives when Seelander coached at Angaston his policy I'm lead to believe was to not pay locals. Will the rules change down at Donnyville now he's at the helm?

Good one Skip generally people that are not worried about their credability already have none. Are you suggesting that LC may also go by the initials of PA?

How are the redlegs looking anyway, I hear through the Blockie grapevine (fairly scoorched and not yielding a lot this season) that you guys are still a 50/50 to sign up Taylor. From what I have heard he is still keen to play in this league and stick around with his good mate Greenwood even if they can't play for the same side.

considering that some of willastons locals are amoungst the best players in the competition i'd say he'd struggle to implement this.

Skip, anything further with this??
Names etc...

Freeling did have a good Senior Colts side from memory, how many of these young lads will move into the senior ranks this year... A promising sign for a club thats relied on imports of late....

Fresh ideas and some new faces are going to be just what the doctor ordered for the redlegs in 09, may not be world beaters but hopefully prousey sticks around for a few years and builds freeling something sustainable for the future.
