Can anyone confirm if S Fox has played his last game for Victor. Word is that he retired after the compass game. Not sure how accurate this info is tho, and maybe just someone talking crap.

streaker, swainy is our president. he was at the presidents ball because he is close friends with the victor hierachy. like the players and coach he wasnt happy with getting belted on saturday but its only a game mate. if you cant go and have a beer after a loss then what can you do. :(( sooking :(( what fix the result.

Cheers Richard its definitely something i think all clubs should do. Whether you win or lose it should be mandatory that you go and a grab a beer or 2 from the opposition clubrooms. Its country footy and one of the pleasures of it is meeting the lads from other clubs, catchin up with old friends etc etc. :partyman:

Round 13 July 18th
Langhorne Ck V Myponga/Sellicks
Strathalbyn V McLaren
Encounter Bay V Yankalilla
Willunga V Victor Harbor
Goolwa V Mt Compass

Another couple of big games this week with Willunga v Victor and Goolwa v Compass. We need the win to stay level with top spot but Victor need the win to stay in the race for the double chance. Plenty to play for.

Goolwa are playing for their finals spot, already 2 games behind Mt Compass (Strath and Victor also) a loss here would almost put them out of the race, a win however gives them a realistic shot at finals footy. Compass have taken 2 big scalps in 2 weeks and a win keeps the dogs right in the hunt for a double chance. Im tipping a close one but Compass were very good 2 weeks ago so i cant go past them! Would someone man up Shaun Maxfield, the man is on fire!!!

I believe he is not far off Lily.
An early retirement is pending for the burly goal sneak, in-house fighting revolving a poor off-field act from a 'team-mate' has come to a loggerhead. The pair have been unable to resolve their differences and this is set to end in the termination of Shane Fox's services at Victor Harbor. The issue is said to irrepairable. Fox, is more than happy with the clubs progress and the coaching staff, but is finding it difficult to overcome this personal matter.

The player in question was a massive influence in the Roos securing Fox's services, the club and coaches are confident they can retain Fox for the remainder of the season as he is a vital cog in their finals aspirations.

Hopefully he can see the out the season and resolve the matter in the off-season.

Creek - After a slow and rocky start have got used to the new faces and are hitting the form we all expected from that list
Strath - To get back on the winners list and look towards fine tuning ready for finals
Bays - Will be looking to keep Yank win-less for the season
Victor - I hope
Goolwa - Last weeks conditions made it hard and suited Compass, on a deck that has grass and the oposition side will be able to kick the ball in the air I think Goolwa will catch them out if they can break the way Compass on-ballers like to lock it up all the time.

Whats the reasoning behind this?? Surely it cant be that bad that he wont play anymore??

Noticed this in the Sunday Mail as well. 10.13 is not 63. Final margin was 10 points after the Pies hit the front with about 5 minutes to go. Good game of football!

I didnt realise it was that close or that Goolwa hit the front. A very good effort by the maggies! Are they still a chance to make the finals? If they can win this weeks game against Victor Harbor they will be 1 game behing the Roos with 4 rounds to go! Could get a little exciting! I see noone manned up Maxfield ;)

A good day for us at Willunga against Victor Harbor. Matty Bennett doing a super job on Dale Ellis and the midfield managing to contain the dangerous Hodge, Joraslafsky and Luke Ellis enough to quell their influence.

Whats the condition of the Yankalilla oval like? We head there this week and ive heard its a bit of a mudbowl at present?

I will have to correct you there BJ. Our effort was not a "good" effort because we should have won the match and we cant accept losses like that, especially playing against Compass who we beat on their home deck. We controlled the last half of the 3rd quarter in to a stiff breeze and had all the play in the last but misses by myself, whitey, robbo and cuthy were costly. As for Maxfield, he was manned up on and was kept reasonably quiet along with Burdett (although Burdett kicked the winner after not been sighted all day). You dont need to worry those 2 players wont be getting mail medal votes so your safe for another week. Credit to Compass though, i felt they were on the canvas but dug deep to regain the lead late and deserved the points.

Disappointing for you guys then LF. Would have been a good spectacle but it sucks to lose close games mate bad luck!

A bit of tongue in cheek about manning up maxfield too, trying to get a reaction out of GA and P32 after their efforts last week!

2 cracking games this year between us an Compass. 7 points in our favour in round 4 and 10 points on the weekend. From all reports, the spectators at the game thought it was a pretty good game of country footy.

In other news, Hamsy is on 90 needing 10 for the century?? Yank this week, i think it may be a possibility. Hope he gets it because we play Willunga in the round afterwards!!
