Was a great hitout, not sure if they had theyre full side in for the up coming round one but even though we didnt, the game went back and forth and was very competitive.
Uraidla are going to be the big improver

What would you say are their strengths, to becoming the big improvers Gooch?

Well mate, theyre new recruits looked sharp, very fit!
They move the footy very well from theyre backlines, run in numbers and very creative.
Strong around the packs and infront of goal.
Taller players are skillful and pretty quick!
I was just impressed with the way the gelled together.. :)

Was a good hit out wasn't it mate, its the first time that we have beaten Willunga in a trial 4 a while as well, are always a very good side 2 play very good hit out leading into the first round. By the way who is #8 for u blokes he played as a centreman and was about a foot taller than your ruckman!!

Comfortably game of the round. The other games may be a bit one sided.

I've heard along with a few country teams that they might not have the numbers too fill a B grade, but only a rumor, someone told me that the club has spoke to the league, but it could be all wrong, hope it is. But besides that from all rumors they might be slipping down the ladder a bit which might make for an interesting game against bridgey, that was the point.

In the Country Div thread it is said that at a HFL meeting last week, 4 clubs were struggling to field 2 senior teams. One was Onkas, the other 3 Meadows, Maccy and Callington. Now whether that is true or not I couldn't say.

I can assure for once that we - Macclesfield - are not having trouble fielding B grade numbers and will think you'll find that one of the other clubs that was mentioned at the HFL meeting was one that has been fairly succesful over the last 4 years.

Spoke to Onkas player at work yesterday, this is absolute rubbish! He said they have canned there "C" grade but will have no probs filling there "B"'s. Actually talking to him, i think Onkas might be better than people think. Klun is a mail medalist remember, Shee is as good key fwd as in competition. Kirwin i think it is has returned from Norwood and apparently is a gun. Paul Tanner has returned after year off, still got Wescombe, Dicko and Smith Brothers. He said a couple of there new recruits are guns! Wasnt talking premierships but reckons top 5 no probs! Be interesting to see, as i think everyone has written them off, but they might fly under the radar a bit!

Can anyone shed any light on why Ironbank's fortunes are apparently so dismall for '09? My understanding is that they have lost Muffy, who only played around half the games last year, Exelby who was looking a bit past it last year and that big bloke with the terrible metro mullet who retired (his name escapes me). Have they lost anyone else of note? I thought IB had/have a talented young squad who are only going to get better this year and also have a solid pool of talented senior colts coming through. I would think that would be an exciting situation for IB but apparently not many others think so.
