The ability is there z-mac. Just need to apply it consistently.

They are not average at all, they had a slow start to the year and now wont look back!! Justin Smith in the 1's is a concern for depth but if they have 20 other quality players I am sure they can cover him.
They face Victor at home, I would think going on both sides form Compass will get them by 8+ goals and Goolwa at Goolwa they should get up by 4 or 5 goals.

Isnt there a Denis Iljcesen that is or was on South's senior list? Might be a different one.

That is a big in!!! Wouldnt come cheap but is a very very good player, can play forward or back but as a forward will certainly fill the role Pitman played. With Ellis and Iljcesen Victor Harbor will be very hard to stop once they get the ball going forward, Hodge, L Ellis, White, Brown and co have 2 super targets to go to now!

Iljescen would more than replace Pitman, 5 times better player. However wouldn't Iljescen be worth 4 points, Pitman was only 3 which means they would need to play another colt to cover this.
Also surely South wouldn't just let Iljescen walk out mid season after being a part of their senior squad for years. How much coin are Victor spending??? These players don't come cheaply

Maybe he has signed for the future? Might have no intentions of playing for Victor in the next year or two but if he signs now his points value will be only 2 by season 2011.

I think you'll find that 'young' 'inexperienced' sides do play inconsistent footy ... guys to state a player and questioning why he's in the side is a little harsh i think (or maybe i've miss interpreted that statement)! i would guarantee that other than the top 2 maybe 3 sides in the GSFL the rest would have players that are fringe a graders in their side ... never the less they still put their hand up to play when asked by the a grade selection committee ... i say well done to them!! It's much better than players that are more than capable a graders who refuse to play a's cause it's "too hard" "just wanna play with me mates" or some other piss weak excuses (other than I'm too old for a's! :D ) etc!

I personally would pat the back of the likes of "j. smith's" for presenting themselves for the late game on a saturday!

If you're old then so am I!

I think it's fantastic that Justo stepped up into the 1's and kicked a couple. gives other backmen hope!

this iljescen lad could be the brother of the one who played league footy for south,if so he came to m/vale quite sum time ago wen trying to make it at south.if im correct then he is no were as good as the one who played league.but i could be wrong.

Definetly the Ilecjsen that is currently tied up with South He is good mates with Dale Ellis. Word got out about a fortnight ago that he would be on the lookout for something local but was having a knee operation this week. I know The Shoes had talks with him and I had a passing conversation with the man himself but because he was being inidated with calls he may have done this to put off the callers. He is listed in the injury in the adverstiser as 10 weeks and is on contract so will be maybe a starter next season but it is going to cost big $$$$ He is a good footballer tremendous mark and a great kick on him.
