Good day at Waikerie - it's a good venue to watch a game at, especially with a big crowd.
Great performance by the Demons.
They looked a little shaky in the opening but once they settled, you could see the rythm at work.
Barmera had no answer to Pumpa or Barber (would've been a sweet satisfaction for him) and Langdon was good too.
Smart was sensational for Barmera - nearly 40 touches.
The Roos were brave but just couldn't get a roll on.
Peucker and Price were good up front - just didn't get it up there often enough.
One bloke should be very disappointed with himself. To see someone with sooooo much talent waste it on a day like that was sad.
BC, I told you it was never in doubt ;)

Well done to Rod, I know some people don't like him because of his taciturn nature but I've really enjoyed watching him work with this side over the season. He deserves every little bit of success he receives in that respect.
Enjoyed watching him give young Dave a spray too! Enforcing discipline to the end.

Barmera could feel a little unlucky in the B grade. Waikerie ultimately too good in the end, blowing it away in the last. But Barmera had so much control of the game, particularly in the middle patches, but just couldn't get it on the board.
Whitbourne's snap goal was fantastic. While Beelitz for Waikerie kicked a corker from the same pocket in the last.
The Roos had no answer for Richardson either. He had a good day, as I'm sure he would have taken some delight in seeing Berri win the A grade.

Streaker!

I noticed two interesting ommisions from the B grade match - I'm certain I didn't see Hippo out there. While Scotty Mathew was missing from the Roos' side.

And finally, well done to Rambo and the Roos 18s. Good win. Best side all year. Top job mate.

East Murray had their B&F last night. The ex Loxton boys cleaned up the awards.
Sam Hoffmann B&F
Ryan Smith runner up.

Sounds like theyre all staying out there too. Very happy with the year they've had. I reckon they're very keen to go one better.

Thoroughly enjoyed yesterday's A grade game.
Having all five grades is fantastic. Makes for a longer day, but the atmosphere was great at Waikerie.
Was great to see the Berri supporters flood the oval when the siren went.
Thought Martin Barber was exceptional yesterday.
A lad with a lot of talent and it's good to see him make his mark in the RFL.
Michael Hill surprised me. Lad can seriously play, with a lot of pace.
Definitely helped set up the win for Berri, along with big Pumpa.
Langdon and Allen were good too and thought Saf did well after injuring himself in the 2nd quarter.
The B grade game was great for a bit of biffo!
Dellazoppa flattened a couple of Roos, one of them being Darrin Warren I reckon.
I think Craig Moore was always going to go out with a bang, especially against the old enemy.

I seen the incident, would expect him to go for 3-6 depending on if thats the only thing he got reported for. The Berri guy that was standing him definitely did his job, thats for sure.

Was actually interesting when he went back and stood Hankin

Saw it. Very disappointing.
I was told by an umpire he was reported twice.
I'm assuming the second time was for coming on to the field after he'd left it.
Unsure on that though.

I reckon I missed the first ten minutes of the actual footy. I was too busy watching the T. Wilson sideshow.

He did have an influence. A negative, disruptive one that unsettled the Roos I reckon.

I dunno if the Barmera recruits looked disinterested - they all seemed to be trying hard from my perspective. But yes, I was told by the wife of one of the guys they'd be heading back to Port next season.

Wilson tried to swing at everyone in the gf.
The headbutt was fair dinkum, gave Ridgway a fair headache.
He came off with the blood rule apparently.
Was interesting the team was not penalised because Wilson crossed the boundary line after being reported
and was replaced. Then he wanted a bit more and came back onto the field without a shirt on.
To me, that meant Barmera had 19 men on the field.
No action was taken in regards to that.

Maddern was Barmera's second best player yet I am certain
he spent half the game on Sutherland, who carved him up when he was forward.

That first quarter set the path didn't it.
You had the biggest bloke on the field at one end just blowing his opponent away - some of those goals were crazy.
And at the other end of the field, probably the smallest bloke was letting himself down.
