hopefully he goes to south and not long plains.. otherwise we would need to watch him and old cockatoo..

Van Den Burg will get exposed in the BL&G big time! I hope south are not paying him much because he barely did a thing in the Plains! Appearances in his case are definately deceiving.

Does this mean that the Plains leauge is at a far lesser standard that the BLG if he is going to get exposed from what i've haerd he was OK in the plains? or is this not the case

Yes much lesser standard. Did pretty much nothing all the times we played them and we were bottom. Also was very quiet in the finals I saw him play. Your bigger ruckmen (aka Hayden Walker in our league) killed him by just being harder at the ball. And the more athletic types jumped over him.

I dont know who the good big fellas are in your league...but they should kill him.
Some folks are wise and some are otherwise.

Talking tall men...

Barossa have lost Spicer, and Chamberlain didnt look in the best nick last year...
GC's still have Howard, and believed to have picked up a tall or 2...
Kapunda Lost Turrell and Kerr...
Tanunda still have Wells (even though I think he is only complemented by the midfield that is around him)...
Willaston, well no improvement there that im aware about...
Freeling, lost Lamond (even though he didnt play much last year), so unless they picked up a handy type...
Ango, I thought someone said their young ruckman has gone to the hills with last years coach (?)...
Nuri have C-Sappsford, but I think he thinks he is better than what he is...
South have the 3 talls as Tex R mentioned, but can they all play at the same time...

So the top four teams last year All had decent big men, with Barossa and Kapunda losing their advantage there, maybe we will see a change in the top 4...

Midfielders can be a dime a dozen, but quality big men are often hard to find...

I heard a rumour that chamberlain has packed up with the mrs and moved to melb. can anyone confirm or deny?

I agree with your comments on Wells LC and am interested to see what the import scenario is at south as i didnt think kennedy was a local.

chris james is a young ruckman bout 19 i think. i think he played one year of under 17's at willaston a couple years ago and has played under age at north i believe

Sounds like WFC have picked up 2 young ruckmen... excellent.

have to disagree with you guys re: Wells, think he is a very good ruckman and a very important cog to the tanunda midfield. His aggression at the ball is second to none when he is switched on and must be respected as a player. Best ruckman in the comp IMO.

You have got to be kidding LC, this lad is an out and out champ when it comes to country footy. No surprises that league clubs where looking at him this year, he will never make it at a league level due to some discipline reasons. The guy is a gun at both on and above ground level. LC you pretend that you are expert on this site but with statement you have lost some serious credability with me.

Have to agree with you Swooper on all fronts, all sides in the BLG wish they had a Wells. I think you will find that LC may well be linked to the media in the Barossa newspapers and does not hide his dislike for your side outside of his media articles. By the way Taylor is still looking hard Freeling.

I hear occonnor was up to his old tricks this week calling a BLG player to try and obtain any phone numbers of blokes he could call from that club. Shows a complete lack of integrity.

I can understand that when the coach leaves in the first instance a couple of blokes might follow, but to keep going back to the well is a disgrace in my opinion.

Is their an unwritten law in football circles about coaches poaching from former clubs...? and when is enough enough?

yes i heard the same thing pinch hitter, apparently had another crack at the baker boys but they just arnt interested and are growing a little tired of this crap from oconnor, id say he is starting to worry bout how much kilburn are going to get flogged in div 2.
he deserves what is coming his way this year!!!!
lets see what he can do without the money and big name players hey!
i think the unwritten law on coaches poaching previous players from former clubs should be that if the player approaches the coach tomake a move its all good, but if the coach is actively seeking out these payers it is a dog act i reckon!!!!

Daysofourlife and Pinchhitter get a life. O'Conner has always kept in touch with all his past plaayers and always asks everyone he knows "who is available". That's what makes him probably one of the most knowledgable coaches going around. He makes no bones about his application to the job at hand i.e. love the one your with. The petty jealousies from people like yourselves who bring up crap about the amount of money Kilburn spends on players is a joke. Why do you think we lost Calyun, Wilson and Dempsey, we couldn't/wouldn't match what they are getting elsewhere. And I am quite sure Barossa Districts appreciated his legacy of a couple of premierships and a heap of players he got there. Bag somone else guys you look foolish on this attempt.
