The bays need to have a good look at what they are doing, the coach is twat and the players I spoke to said they wish he would F off! ok fair call legend if i was skirting packs then so must blum as i backed into him a few times and he got me some gd hits, what was nice was in the third when he dropped me high from behind after i had got rid ov the ball and gave us a free down field and allowed lesie to goal! I may say what i think but i am not alone with what i say and your the one hiding behind a user name but willing to shoot your mouth off. Get rid of your coach and that will be a big step in going forward, you have already had ferg leave before season start and now mitty has left and dycer has confirmed he is going back to goolwa at seasons end so the river cant be too dry, the bay is looking worse than them from this seat!

good to see chucky back on the track last night after his hand injury, raring to go agaisnt goolwa! You seem to follow and comment a bit more on goolwa than you do on the club your acctually playing at. How many points are you when you return to goolwa.

The Bocchi Club at the Oval is a good spot for an hour or two with several wineries undercover and has a good band every year.
Keep clear of any Morphett Vale boys as they have history of becoming a bit untidy. (I mean that in the nicest possibe way)
The same can be said about Henno, Azza and Broughts's other half.

Yetti its one of the most anticipated days on the calendar.

The Bocce Club has been the scene of some of my greatest Sea and Vines memories and if we are allowed in we may well get there this Sunday!

You paying the $10 entry fee to D'Arenberg this year BJ?

Yetti, Heno is on my bus this year, I'll keep an eye on him so hopefully he doesn't get arrested like last year!

Back to footy, does anyone have a selected side for the Association game on Saturday?

Just tell them that you are a guest of Chesters and in you go. Security guards are not too smart at D'Arenburg...in general not too smart anywhere!!!

Chucky would be wanting to play against Goolwa but next year what will he do? I just know alot about Goolwa mate as I grew up for 15+ years at the club and still have very good mates playing and a brother that plays. If I ever returned to Goolwa I would be 0 mate, I am enjoying Victor so why would I leave next year?

Richard Chee Quee wrote:basham is good, when the dickhead coach plays him in the right spot. hes a forward, and a good one. if he plays 4 quarters there this week he will prove that. to say that hes only got 7 goals this yr doesnt mean squat. he plays higher up the ground than ellis and pitman and also gets chucked down back when the coach wants to have a rest in a pocket. its like saying roughead is no good because he doesnt kick as many goals as franklin, and he plays at both ends so he should be picked in a rep side as a forward. load of wank.

my tip will be the GSFL to win by plenty and the best player in the comp, SIR mathew hodge to run a muck and make it 2 BOG's in a row.

teamwork, ferg stayed because popey left. plain and simple. once he knew he was going then ferg was always guna stay. our coach might not be perfect but he puts his nuts on the line for the club. he carry's on a bit but so what. so do lots of other blokes around the comp. mitty can go if he wants and chucky can do so as well.
at the end of the day my friend its only bloody football. you would like to think they would stay, but people will play where they want to play, and if they want to leave well there's jack we can do about it. but i hope they dont.

I am not sure how true that is mate, I am mates with Ferg and I never heard him say its due to pope as pope still plays BBall in the same team as Ferg so I would think they are fine with each other.

teamwork, there is a difference between respecting someone off the field and respecting them as a coach. i have had many coaches over the years and always got on well with them off the field with regular beers etc. but doesn't mean they could coach at all. some couldn't coach a fly up the wall let alone a footy club, and im told that is the situation here. fergt a popey get on fine away from footy, doesnt mean they will get along on the footy field.

Back at work after a long weekend that was never going to be long enough.

The boys on Saturday represented the league with distinction and in a ripper of a game got the points and deserved the win. The 15s lads got up comfortably by over 10 goals and the 17s went down but fought on well.
Good luck to the lads who get asked out to Zone Footy over the next couple of weeks before the country carnival in Pirie in early July.

Back to the real stuff this week and the end of the 1st round of games. Tips in bold!
Round 9 June 13th
McLaren V Langhorne Ck
Strathalbyn V Mt Compass
Yankalilla V Victor Harbor
Encounter Bay V Goolwa
Willunga V Myponga/Sellicks

It was worth going all the way to Mypolonga just to see Trevor Rigney from the RMFL take "The Best" mark I have ever witnessed in any grade of football. I've always heard he was a freak and Saturday proved that he is. Missed the goal from 1 metre out but probably could be excused due to altitude poisoning.

U15's were sensational, challenged early but then put the foot down (68 poiints in the end). The GSFL looks healthy when you consider not only the number of kids around but some of the quality coming through.

Ur not wrong there LF. The grab was massive from about deep and he just hung there. Rigs is known for these things but after kicking 6 goals i didnt feel his influence on the game was massive. I thought Marc Elliot did a great job on him in the circumstances and a few easy forward 50 entries gifted the great man some goals.

Thank you for runnin the drinks too LF. Ur water delivering skills were unmatched throughout the match

"throughout the match" I quit at half time, but my voice was instrumental in the first half, probably set up a few goals! Shouldnt have been telling chicks at the Mannum Hotel on Friday night that I was playing the next day, becaue when I rolled out with the waterboys kit on they gave it to me! Elliot did do a good job on Rigney but I dont know why they didnt isolate Rigney and give him the whole 50 to work in. The big RMFL boys kept taking up all his space. The GSFL boys were sensational the skipper was instrumental (loved the Socceroos style goal). No real weak links for us. My best were Portlock, Haskett, Maxfield, Alexopolous and Peglar.

Sounds like a sensational weekend all round lads.

Almost at the half way mark of the season, any tips on the final 5?

Also who made the zone squad this year?

Being all the way out at Yank I miss these things..

Andy started on the bench, came on and played up forward and on the ball.

A beautiful kick of the footy and did some good things.
