I guess if the points system comes in we will 4 maybe 5 recruits just like everyone else! We will be talking to all ex Saints juniors, and anybody else that would be 1 pointers to help boltser the list.

Im not sure that every club will go out and get 4-5 recruits.
Is there any truth to the rumour that Josh King is heading back to Vic?
Quality player and if leaves the creeks leaves a huge hole, but one they can surely fill by splashing some $$ about. Especially if the points system does come in.

Word has it Baylis has been asked to attend pre-season at South Adelaide.

If the points system is in doesn't seem like many have heard about it officially? Do I detect an air of arrogance from you BJ?

Encounter will recruit ofcourse! All clubs outside the five will, not only does Encounter need numbers they require quality players to compliment a young list.
All the point system will do in the short term for us is have us work to physically negate teams and individuals in order to win games until our list matures and the field evens. Worked well when we played on Scott Brown on Mitch Portlock....

King apparently is being touted to be a part of the Judd deal.

No arrogance at all actually i can assure you Willunga will be looking around to see whats on offer just as every other club will be. I guess the point of this Points system is to encourage clubs to promote juniors and develop them into A grade footballers. By recruiting guys that are going to take there position they are not going to develop as quickly playing in the B grade competition.

I've since edited my reply BJ, that should remove any ill feeling....

Can you confirm 100% the points system is in?
I see your point and the system will take a lot of hard work for clubs to maintain strong numbers and play quality footy, in a perfect world the point system will make the reserve grade strong with senior colts being promoted through it into A'graders however in the meantime what the hell do we do when we lose 6 players at the end of any season but cant recruit more than five and do have any senior colts ready to play senior footy? For example Encounter will lose anywhere from 4-6 seniors and only have 2 senior colts being promoted with one heading to south adelaide 19s.

Just a question if Bayliss does go out to south plays a couple of games then decides it's not for him goes back to his club does that mean he's a 1 pt player because he's already at that club or is he SANFL and become a 4 pt player?

If thats the case does that make Clay Sampson a 1pt player at Morphett Vale or Doughty a 1 pt player at Reynella?

Certainly does mate, if they played juniors there they are regarded as locals to the club and in turn 1pt players.

its preety scarey that the people who run the leauge know absolutety nothing about the game, they just dont have a fill for the current game.If the stupid points system comes in it will kill the leauge with in 2 years!I just hope common sense will prevail, but i suppose we are talking about the same people who killed the lovelock shield off! Just how good is association football these days? lets just hope these once where "try hard footballers" leave the game alone and just let the players play.

A big thank you to the boys that went to Mt Gambier from the Encounter Bay Football Club! Your extremely poor effort at The Mount certainly was big advantage to the Saints boys who left the town with 'legend' status. Now we have to learn how to play footy and we have the whole package.

Yeah we left no stone unturned. We came back to the news that pre-season isn't too far away which sounds daunting.
