I guess my question is....has Encounter Bay decided this year to take a hit slightly in results, knowing full well that Willunga will win and planning for the future...Save on money this year, blood some more young kids and then when Willunga get another year older and closer to the pack, they then can afford to top up on those juniors with some very VERY good players??? Why waste money this year when you will most likely still lose to Willunga???

Bloody good win by the Creek on Saturday, never troubled by Goolwa in what ended up being quite a comprehensive victory.

The team is starting to look very balanced now, with the new boys finding their places nicely. The amount of contested ball that Moore won on Sat was frightening, he was farming out the ball from packs all over the place.

Will be an interesting test against Willunga this weekend. We definitely have the talent to knock them off, it's just whether the side is settled enough yet to upset the seasoned Demons.

Is Simmo trying to keep Ben Moore under the radar this week Ginger or is he just sharing the awards around? On Saturday he was B.O.G. by an absolute country mile but didnt rate a mention in the best??? The Creek midfield dominated from start to finish (which makes me wonder how 3 of our midfielders and a wingman got in our best) and the backline was solid lead by Golding and Norman. Will be a great match this saturday. I am opening up the early betting with Creeks as slight favourite, they can win enough out of the middle and they have the backs to stop Hams. Feast v Steele will be worth the $5.

Jacob Baggs was very quick off the mark in the change rooms after the game. saying that he had an 8 year old girl have 4 shots on her left an 4 on her right from the same spot as mitch, and she kicked the lot. which had the changerooms in tears (bar mitch).

having said that, if we hadn't allowed compass to kick 8 goals in the third quarter then the game wouldn't have come down to mitch's kick at the end. still, i hope hes prepared to the belting hes guna get at training tuesday and for the next few weeks.

Funny you should say that, just bumped into him down the street in my lunch break, he's already on the email with a few of the boys working on the match ups for the game on the weekend apparently!

Didn't see the bests in the paper Sunday but if Moore wasn't in then there could possibly be a bit of foxing going, he was definitely BOG in my books. I've noticed that quite often the bests back at the club are different to what's in the paper.

It's all about how the Creeks respond to the pressure that Willunga will no doubt be applying in spades I reckon. Strath & Compass both heaped on the pressure and in those games the boys went to water a bit, hopefully now after a couple more wins they are a bit more confident in their structures and set-ups when the going gets tough.

This weeks game at Victor will be a big day for the Victor Footy Club with the "decade of domination" celebrations. They have different events and functions planned from Friday night through to Sunday arvo, the A grade will be wearing a one off jumper with all the years the A grade won the flag listed down the middle and a commemorative logo displayed on the front also that will then be auctioned off that night at the cocktail party. I believe a marquee will be set up for the day with all past premiership players and members receiving invites to the match to watch us take on the bays and catch up with old team mates and supporters. Past players are making the trip down from all around Australia to celebrate the decade that was, allot of work has gone into this weekend with the organising of functions and guest's so I would expect it to be a big day at the Victor Footy oval on sat arvo and anyone who is looking for a good game of country footy and what should be a large crowd come down for a look.

I thought Follet and Feast could have made claims to take BOG honours from Moore on the weekend. Everything Feast did he did it with class and Follet didnt stop all day. Not bad for a ?36 year old, and no wonder he has so many medals to his name.
My sources at Morphett Vale tell me Moore went missing in big games against them. Lets hope for Willunga's sake he does the same this weekend. You would expect players on that kind of coin to make a big impression and he did that on the weekend. Any on-baller would love having Feast in their team. Sherwood looked to have an easy day at the office.
Looking through the Langhorne lineup there were plenty of players who are 30+, so if they cant get past Willunga in the next couple of years their time is running out to win a flag you would think.

Well said Dutchy.. In fact both the Folletts (Randall & Tim) played well. After reading your post I went through the LC players from Saturday's team that are on the wrong side of 30 and there were 6 of them.. Tim & Randall Follett, Ben Potts, Feasty, Ben Moore and Paul Sherwood. A good mix of youth and experience!

Your a fair way off the mark Captain One-eyed, I am new to the Victor footy club and although not all that familiar with all the premiership players from the 90's or the faces around the club yet it seems on match days up at the club I am meeting new faces every week. Alot of these faces are all past premiership players from the 90's and still get around in the blue and white bomber jacket's (they also make sure after your first game in the jumper you skull a 'roo blood'), I am sure some guys have not been back for a while but isn't that what a "reunion" is all about??? Bringing past groups back together????
I am sure if you looked at every side but Willunga's last A grade premiership side you wont find all 21 at the club still, people will always move on and away due to a number of reaasons and if your club was to have a "reunion" you would hope to see most of them return, that is what this weekend is all about for the Victor footy club as I am sure in 10+ years BJ and all his team mates will be having similar events.
