No effort to go for the footy at all, grabbed Proud's head and pulled him head first into the ground. From my view, didn't appear much different to a spear tackle.
Umpire didn't report the Waikerie player and there was a heated discussion between umps at the break as to whether it was a reportable offense.
A sour note on what was a pretty good performance from Waikerie, especially in the first half.

A couple of shock losses in the past few rounds
means they are going to miss finals.
Are players missing or are they just down on confidence?

Dogwatcher wrote:Last three rounds of RFL B grade are going to be very interesting:
Barmera 11/2 22 59.26
Waikerie 10/3 20 62.57
Renmark 6/7 12 51.17
Lox Nth 5/8 10 46.52
Berri 5/8 10 45.47
Loxton 3/10 6 35.99
Round 14
Lox v Ber
Ren v Lox Nth
Barm v Waik
Round 15
Barm v Ren
Waik v Lox
Lox Nth v Ber
Round 16
Lox Nth v Lox
Ber v Barm
Waik v Ren
Barmera-Monash and Waikerie secure with double chance - but either team could take top.
A win to Renmark on weekend will secure them a top four spot.
Loxton probably the only team out of the race as even if they did win all three remaining games, their percentage would hurt them.
The Loxton North v Berri game in round 15 is probably the crucial one for those sides.

So, yeah, MUST win last three to keep destiny in our hands.
Considering we put our worst team on the park for the season, against a competition pacesetter, we thought we played pretty well.
The absence of Ben Miller in recent weeks has been a real negative for us. With him in the side, we can beat all sides I think.
Would love to see Funkstar back.
That's a huge effort to kick nine in the last quarter - often nine goals is enough to win B grade matches on its own.
So, Loxton now definitely out of the hunt too as well.
So, will go to Sporting Pulse from now on for my ladders. Lesson learnt.

Well done Renmark, a very deserved win.
A good result for a bunch of kids.
What is the situation with Barmera recently? Not saying the wheels have fallen off but it's not a good time to be dropping games...
Loxton are coming good at the right time with Smith seemingly fit. They are a very strong chance to win the flag. Smith apparently yesterday had 35 possies with five goals and spent the last quarter at FF.
Waikerie beat the Roos yesterday but can they threaten for the flag? They had a couple out yesterday, including Venno from what I understand, so can they lift some more?
A couple of bouquets - I listened to the Life FM coverage on the way home from Renmark yesterday and thought Ben Files' commentary was fantastic. Good quality. Didn't seem to take a breath but didn't make a mistake either.
Also, I know it's unfashionable to give umps credit but I reckon Oscar Abdulla does a pretty good job in B grade games. He's consistent with his decisions. If it's in the back, it's paid. If it's high, it's paid. I don't always agree with his decisions, surprise, surprise, but at least he's consistent with them. Never interferes with the game, just calls it as he sees it.

Good post DW. Spot on with those bouquets, Oscar is a great ump consistent and rarely noticed. This weeks results certainly have added some interest to the finals coming up.

The negatives.
- An extra game on Saturday and hence an even earlier start. I remember this format about 20 years ago, but the u12's and 14's were played on Sundays.
-Finding the extra players to fill the gap from u15's to 18's.
Positives.
- It may mean we wouldn't need the u11's on Friday nights which would definitely save some travelling!.
Overall my original thoughts were no because of the early start, but if it meant those larger families only had one day of football travel then i'd say yes. The biggest concern is getting the players across all these grades in a time when more families are leaving the area than coming here. I guess the league would have these figures and ultimately it is up to the clubs to decide.
