I thought the tackle on Daniel Proud was reportable.
No effort to go for the footy at all, grabbed Proud's head and pulled him head first into the ground. From my view, didn't appear much different to a spear tackle.
Umpire didn't report the Waikerie player and there was a heated discussion between umps at the break as to whether it was a reportable offense.
A sour note on what was a pretty good performance from Waikerie, especially in the first half.

Last three rounds of RFL B grade are going to be very interesting:

Barmera 11/2 22 59.26
Waikerie 10/3 20 62.57
Renmark 6/7 12 51.17
Lox Nth 5/8 10 46.52
Berri 5/8 10 45.47
Loxton 3/10 6 35.99

Round 14
Lox v Ber
Ren v Lox Nth
Barm v Waik

Round 15
Barm v Ren
Waik v Lox
Lox Nth v Ber

Round 16
Lox Nth v Lox
Ber v Barm
Waik v Ren

Barmera-Monash and Waikerie secure with double chance - but either team could take top.
A win to Renmark on weekend will secure them a top four spot.
Loxton probably the only team out of the race as even if they did win all three remaining games, their percentage would hurt them.

The Loxton North v Berri game in round 15 is probably the crucial one for those sides.

What is going on with Cobby in the Independents?
A couple of shock losses in the past few rounds
means they are going to miss finals.
Are players missing or are they just down on confidence?

The weekend was the first time I've ever come across them, and they came across as a side playing without much passion or purpose. Still seemed to be searching for a player or two a half hour before the game.
Got roasted at half time and didn't really respond. They are definitely a few rungs below the current top 4 based on what I saw. Their F/F (I think Tilbrook) seemed to have taken the angry pills and spent the whole game mouthing off about the Cobby young defenders and the gameplan they were employing.

DW, not sure where you've got your ladder from but sporting pulse has North a game behind both Berri and Renmark. North play both in the next fortnight, so if they win both they most likely will qualify. Lose one and they will rely on results going their way. I think they're good enough to make it. They've played some good footy lately and Sat's game was a pretty good standard.

Sporting pulse also had Renmark kicking 9 goals in the last quarter to steam roll Berri. Not a bad effort in a 20 min quarter against a team fighting for a finals berth.

Doh! Got the ladder from the RFL website.
So, yeah, MUST win last three to keep destiny in our hands.
Considering we put our worst team on the park for the season, against a competition pacesetter, we thought we played pretty well.
The absence of Ben Miller in recent weeks has been a real negative for us. With him in the side, we can beat all sides I think.
Would love to see Funkstar back.

That's a huge effort to kick nine in the last quarter - often nine goals is enough to win B grade matches on its own.
So, Loxton now definitely out of the hunt too as well.

So, will go to Sporting Pulse from now on for my ladders. Lesson learnt.

After two woeful attempts to make my crapola post look positive, have decided to scrap this very poor attempt. Get em fired up Wildo. Go you Roos.

Great round of footy yesterday.
Well done Renmark, a very deserved win.
A good result for a bunch of kids.

What is the situation with Barmera recently? Not saying the wheels have fallen off but it's not a good time to be dropping games...

Loxton are coming good at the right time with Smith seemingly fit. They are a very strong chance to win the flag. Smith apparently yesterday had 35 possies with five goals and spent the last quarter at FF.

Waikerie beat the Roos yesterday but can they threaten for the flag? They had a couple out yesterday, including Venno from what I understand, so can they lift some more?

A couple of bouquets - I listened to the Life FM coverage on the way home from Renmark yesterday and thought Ben Files' commentary was fantastic. Good quality. Didn't seem to take a breath but didn't make a mistake either.

Also, I know it's unfashionable to give umps credit but I reckon Oscar Abdulla does a pretty good job in B grade games. He's consistent with his decisions. If it's in the back, it's paid. If it's high, it's paid. I don't always agree with his decisions, surprise, surprise, but at least he's consistent with them. Never interferes with the game, just calls it as he sees it.

Have heard that the junior grades could be changed to under 12s, 14s, 16s, 18s next season?
Anyone have any thoughts on that?

The B grade top four could be decided this weekend.
Berri v North - big game. Let's hope we can get a decent side on the deck.
It seems the RFL ladder is correct, I understand Berri B grade lost some points hence they have one less win than they should on the RFL ladder.
True or not?

The negatives.
- An extra game on Saturday and hence an even earlier start. I remember this format about 20 years ago, but the u12's and 14's were played on Sundays.
-Finding the extra players to fill the gap from u15's to 18's.

Positives.
- It may mean we wouldn't need the u11's on Friday nights which would definitely save some travelling!.

Overall my original thoughts were no because of the early start, but if it meant those larger families only had one day of football travel then i'd say yes. The biggest concern is getting the players across all these grades in a time when more families are leaving the area than coming here. I guess the league would have these figures and ultimately it is up to the clubs to decide.

I don't have kids playing footy, so I'm not sure if it's good or bad.
I'd assume the under 12s would still be playing Friday night to allow each district's Auskick program to take place on Saturday morning.
Whatever happens, those kids have to be kept involved.
It's a conundrum no doubt.

I was talking to Tschirp, Wooly and Clarrie at various times during the week and they each outlined their weekends with junior footy.
Under 11s, Auskick, under 18s (for Tschirp) and then seniors. Loooong day. Especially if you have wives and/or daughters playing netty.

Sounds pratical however more so in Metro with greater player numbers
Player number would be hard to find for Under 18's
perhaps reduce u18 to U17's - would make the jump from under 15' s less of an issue for some of the smaller players .would improve the quality of the b grade comp not mention better opportunities for more players to play A' grade

Has been talked about previously but not followed through. will be interesting if RFL and RJFL can work together
