From what i hear its a constitution thing.
Why advertise at all really surely Barry has the job until hes ready to go as he has taken us to 4 flags in a row and coached out of his skin in the GF this year for us to win it!
I can imagine tho with that advertisement his phone will ring off the hook, if i were him id get a new number.

Thought something silly like that - footy commitee's do some strange things sometimes - lets hope other clubs that have seen the advert dont try and poach him...

Just got a copy of the GSFL points system document. Very intersesting. Worth having a good read before you sign anyone up for season 2008. After an initial read, I would be suprised if it gets voted in. It certainly wont be of any assisstance to the bottom teams.

Most presidents have a copy! We are trying to sign blokes up but this point system has put a spanner in the works. We will really only be able to recruit about 5 players.

Yeah thats right thats why i dont like the system.
U will struggle to compete and if ur better locals find somewhere else to go ur up the creek without a paddle! I think the league needs to leave it alone.

If it aint broke, dont fix it!

just having a kid might have an impact on his coaching role but most GSFL clubs advertise because of their constitutions. Doesn't sound like the points system will get voted in. I cant imagine what clubs would want it

Boys everyone seriously has to go to their own club and rally against the system!
Get ya mates to ring the president aswell, the league is pushing for it and still even after listening to those who are all for it I cant find a reason why?
The points system will sink clubs in the short term and when our juniors choose to have a break from footy in the future it will screw us then, develop all you want but the points system does not mean clubs can automatically become overnight player development pits!

It would be far more beneficial if clubs were held accountable by the league for player payments, surely there is a trap that can be made for fledging clubs. Firstly how about an independant auditor who via the league not only audits clubs but also does every clubs books come tax time. This will not stop golden handshakes however good luck to any bloke that gets them.

come on FM, the Auditor General of Aust. won't pick up a hand full of golden eagles slid to a player by a sponsor or supporter that would be a complete waste of time.

I disagree to be honest, when was the last time a GSFL club was audited and then fined?
Ofcourse there is money under the table and will always be however I'm thinking maybe we can come up with a way to better the current system rather than change it, the points system doesn't need to be introduced in our league just yet.

No need to change anything. Im sure the golden handshakes go around but in the end the comp is not suffering because of them.
Clubs know that buying flags does not work because the comp is stronger than that. So to sound like a broken record nothing needs to change, we have one of the best comps in country football with a good comradere between clubs and players. Theres always teams that struggle in every league, hopefully those clubs turn it around and become powerhouses again.

On another note who has announced club B & Fs for this season?

What is the max. points the GSFL have proposed to use for match days?

I think the HFL are looking at using about 35 - to be voted on at the AGM.
