The best column was Bag & Sledge back in the days, that was a very popular column along with The Good Oil from Honest John. Peter Argents column is great also in The Herald, he is up to date on every topic.

The fifth quarter struggled with theirs. And Sunbowler was average.

At least Argent speaks to people before going ahead and writing things ie Baker story last season!!!
I did suggest for Sven Lindner or Paul Ryan to take over the Triple B FM radio show they would be great, as they are up to date on everything around the BLG and are also great speakers.
A Sporting Chance has had enough Chance. Time for something new. Maybe Laidlaw has something up his sleeve because he is very well respected as a person and journo...
Thats a bit wrong, a sporting chance is completely different to the other things that have featured in the past and is never used to make jokes as the B&S article was.... its more 'main stream'....
Its definately not different to The Heralds column, yet so far apart in knowledge and up to date news.
And dont get me started on some of the match reviews that have been written in the past...Gets plenty of things wrong.

Teakle would have to be the best Journo in terms of Match Reviews.
Followed by Laidlaw, Argent.

Got to be kidding me mate!!! His reports are fine if you are an Angaston supporter!!!!

They could get belted by 30 goals and the article would still be about them and how they were showing signs of improvements!!!

Really am an ump, am not Laidlaw... am not close to Norman, but think all of the local media coverage is great, as long as they dont take pot shots at umpies in their articles as it is a cheap way of offending people

Enforcer - Will they be paying him with cookies and chocolate cake?

Im not sure what you are getting at there duke
Obviously hes a very talented footballer who is very dangerous around the goalfront. As its been mentioned, its 70 goals barossa will need to find from somewhere else.
No doubt he would be on a fair pay packet. ;)

The Duke wants to know if he is getting paid in cookies and cake to see if he can get it put into his contract. DT is by no means the only chubby player in the Barossa.

D.T. Freakish around goal, his strength a feature of his game. If he could kick a bit straighter he'd kick 100 in the plains.

QUOTE/[Feedback tells me "A Sporting Chance" is quite popular (even more so during the footy season) and I appreciate the support of posters recently on this forum.
So fellow posters, let's put a deal to Baggy. Let's see if he is smart enough and disciplined enough to return to the topic this thread is for - BL&G recruiting, player movements, etc.
BUT, if he doesn't, HE REVEALS HIS NAME ON THE FORUM (as I have) AND WE CAN CHECK HIS CREDIBILITY!
Are you a strong enough man, Baggy, to do one or the other??? Have you grown enough to move on from personal attacks?? Let's wait and see BL&G posters - watch this space.....!]QUOTE/

OK, obviously NOT smart enough, NOT disciplined enough and NOT strong enough to do the right thing. Dear oh dear. Attacks on me and my column continuing, though still not getting any support for his slanted view, LOL!
Baggy's Credibility sputtering......burning......dying.....crashed and GONE.
YOU LOSE BAGGY. TIME TO REVEAL YOUR NAME!
As I reflected back on how I hesitated for a second before walking into the lion's cage carrying a leg of lamb, I thought to myself .......... I've got to do something about this lack of confidence.

Problem about Triple BFM doing calls is that ultimately it depends on the individuals driving it. We had regular calls 2002-2004, even did a Power trial and association games (the one when so many players pulled out Doecke was walking his dog around Ango oval and got thrown in..or so it seemed) but it was reliant on us to do all the work from setting up, having someone in the studio to put it to air and then pack it all up.

We were a community access group like anybody else and when we walked away it stopped happening..the station were only committed to it as long as there were people there doing all the legwork..It was a huge day...I'm not sure if we were any good but we were loud, obnoxious and proud, enjoyed getting to know the clubs and players and being a part of it..Don't care how bad commentary is at AFL games with Rowe and co it adds to the game...We got the same feedback from people sitting in their cars. It was a hobby for four of us and good fun..but we moved on to other things

There are quality people still at the station clearly Jammo, Sven, Argent, Teakle etc who have and will be brilliant again..but it wont happen until the station says 'we want it weekly, we will committ to it because its good for the station...boys we will support you..what do you need...

Unfortunately as community radio works the BLG pay the money and get the morning show and a pimply acne ridden teenager playing Latvian Death Metal fusion spoken word has just as much right to a Saturday afternoon shift as the BLG

Norman
Trouble with your articles, is they are somewhat biased towards Kapunda, which is only natural
You do take the liberty of making a rumour into something sensational
You have rubbed a couple of clubs the wrong way
Therefore i think info coming out to you from these clubs would be some what limited
Can i ask, what is your " Football Background "
