I think it's far to early to even be talking finals at Bridgy, think Gain coaching is a step in the right direction but it's always going to be a tough gig. S Flinn is the one from Mypo very good player but will see how he goes playing back on the small Bridgewater oval.

If they finish in front of all those teams they still won't make finals. Would still have to knock out one of Uraidla, Mt Barker, Hahndorf,
Blackwood and Mt Lofty. Good Luck with that.

Bridgewater playing Finals? You've got to be kidding. That is the most ridiculous statement I've ever read. They've already lost a few from last season and so far the only confirmed recruit is Flynn who is hardly a superstar. He wont have any impact against the top sides. They will finish bottom 3 yet again.

You cant write off any side. At Lofty we went from loosing 29 games straight (practically 2 seasons), to playing finals the year after.

2words, would you consider the comp back then to be as strong as what it is now?
Do you think the top 5 back then would be as strong as it is at the moment.
I don't think I would.
I think the top 6 clubs at the moment are very strong which makes it really hard for the bottom sides to crack into finals.
That is why Birdwood aren't aiming to make finals but their goal is to continue thier improvement from last year and be much more competetive against the mid range sides.
If we can snag enough wins to make finals - huge bonus. But if we miss out on finals by acouple of games but still show that improvement, it will be considered a successful year.

I think for Bridgy to make the finals they would need nothing short of a miracle.

My opinion is over the next couple of years they should be spending their money on improving the facilities and doing everything they can to stress to their younger players to stick with the club during this tough period and aim for finals in 3 years time. They shouldn't go for the short term fix of spending big on 2-3 players - spend it on the club.

2 words, the guys that came to Lofty and turned things around were/are top class players with SANFL experience. Bridgy have lost some of their better players, have confirmed the signing of one middle of the range player in Flynn and have talked about the possible signing of a couple of fringe Norwood reserves players. They might win more games than last season but they wont play finals. Having said that good luck to them. I would be happy to be proven wrong as it would be great for the competition but I don't think it will happen.

You don't know what the your talking about S Flinn is a gun came second or third in the mail medal in the River murray league in 07. He is a better player than all the recruits Bridgewater had this season just gone by far. I can't see Bridgy doing what Lofty did but they are taking steps in the right direction. Would be fantastic to see them cause a few upsets and shut some negative dickheads up on this forum.

Ballhog you are kidding yourself if you think they will play finals. I've seen Flinn play and he is not as good as you make him out to be. I dont think anyone is being negative just realistic.
