Interesting to read in the budget yesterday, they tipped Kersbrook and said they will have to restrict both Mcgahey and Ladhams, obviously easier said than done with Ladhams continuing on his merry way kicking another 9 and I seen Mcgahey got another best on!!

Shaping up to be the best finals series in a long time for country div, great for the competition.

Could be a very heated elimination final between the two northern sides!!!
And Ironbank scraping in to 3rd by the skin of their teeth, awesome season so far.

It worked out to be about a goals difference in the end.

Absolutely Brodlach!

Anything can happen in finals footy, Kersbrook have been a good side for a long time but they're getting on now, as long as Gumeracha don't let them play keepings off then they have every chance of winning. Can see it boiling over at some stage!

Kersbrook would be hoping Sunday is wet. At this stage there might be the odd shower around but not a real lot in it

Gums are a chance for sure if Matty and Mumford get a hold of the brookers defence... Bridgey should beat ironbank they did get 3rd in the end but didn't really impress me on Saturday after qr time with so much on the line... They were very lucky we didn't kick straight in the 2nd half but maybe they took their foot off the pedal not quite sure.

Nairne should win it best team we have played but we all know their track record in finals good luck to all the teams involved

Have to say we were pretty lucky to get third. 2nd half was quite ordinary especially the third quarter and the playing group was told so. A couple of injuries didn't help but should have some handy replacements coming back this week.

Should be a great finals series. Lets just hope for some fine weather and the grounds dry out

Any thoughts where the Semi's will be? I would assume one would be at Kersbrook and maybe the other at Callington?

That will all depend on results from the first week.

If Bridgewater lose on Saturday and Kersbrook win on Sunday, the first semi can't be at either of those grounds.

So if Bridgewater and Kersbrook play each other next week the hfl plan to take a final off Kersbrook for the second year in a row. This is ridiculous the best oval and facility will not be used two years in a row. The league will probably argue that it's hard to schedule but blind Freddy could see you only had to use birdwood on the second week of finals and either Kersbrook or callington the first week

Tips for this weekend, seeing as it is finals I will do both senior grades.

Semi
I'm going with Ironbank by a point.
Bridgey by 2 goals in the rezzies.

Elim.
Kersbrook by 3 goals in a fiery contest.
Ironbank by 4 goals in the 2's.

Big weekend off footy coming up.

Qualifying Final Bridgy V Ironbank- Exciting time for us as it's been a long time since we were playing in a qualifying final. Bridgey on the other hand are use to big games after the last two seasons. Last time these two teams met Ironbank got up due to a big last quarter but both teams were missing important players with Smith and Bevelander (Big inclusion last week) missing for the raiders and Schneider and munn out for the thunderers. The midfield battle will be huge with both teams having good depth through the middle. If big Nick Van den berg can get on top in the ruck just like last time it will give an important edge to the thunderers. Ironbank have a good spread of goal kickers and with Munn & Desengo providing big targets the raiders may struggle to contain them, however bridgey have two quality forwards in Wakefield & Searle. In particular Searle has caused issues for Ironbank this year and they must contain him better. I'm probably being biased but based on the second half of the year (other then last week where we terrible, Hats of to kangys though who were much better then us for the majority of the day) Ironbank have been the more impressive side and I will tip them by 2 goals in a cracking match.

Elimination Final Kersbrook V Gumeracha- What a match this will be between the cross town rivals. Fantastic to see the turnaround from gums this year. The gums at there best are a very good side having beaten Bridgey & ironbank and they will need to bring that this week to beat the brookers. The brookers on the other hand just go about there business as they always have and win games of footy. I'm not sure this is the best match up for gumeracha as they play a similar style to kersbrook and it is hard to beat them playing there way. Where you can get Kersbrook is on the outside as Narine both times and Ironbank the second time showed, Kersbrook have a very dangerous forward line with Lees & Gardener in particular damaging, where as Gums rely heavily on mumford to kick a bag. I think Kersbrook have to muich depth and gums arent quick enough to trouble kersbrook unless Hanna & Mumford have massive days. Kersbrook by 6 goals.
