yeah they do have 10, you got me :)
if anyone was able to do it though, it would be imps

do you know where the ruckman is from GWW (eg points worth)

on the points system;
it will be interesting to see if teams leave a few points 'up there sleeve' for later in the year say for reserves players that dont make it, or people moving to the area?

No i'm not sure where he would be from mate, if hes played amateur i'd say maybe 3 points.

Are you saying Imps should be investigated for previous breaches as per Carlton and then punished ;)

ha
i think unfortunately, the salary cap was an absolute waste of time.
but no doubt if you looked at imps' books, im sure it would show they only pay about 2 players peanuts per game. if, however, you looked at some local MB businesses' books, you may find some hefty cash donations to some random charaties..
after all, if they couldnt afford to pay their council rates over the last few years, how could they possibly have enough money to pay players over the cap 8-[

I've heard Morris from Meningie is retiring.

As hinted at previously, former Marion/Morphy Park players Shane Thomas, Adam Wilkey, Tony Lynch, Josh Herbert and Matt Linke are all playing for Tailem Bend next season.

Thomas about 24 and could be good if he can get fit.
Wilkey about 26 (brother played reserves for Port Magpies last year) a very good player and will be an onballer.
Herbert a CHB/Ruckman whose about 26.
Lynch is only 21 and a real hardnut who has a great leap which means he can play in ruck despite only being 6 foot.
Linke has very good skills but would have to show a bit more interest to have a real impact.

Interesting ORDB.

I presume they'd all be worth 2 points, so that would be 10 points used up by Tailem.

Is it Shane or Steven Thomas? Can say that Wilkey will be a very handy player for them, very underrated.

certainly sounds promising for the eagles next year.
they have only got one way to go and you would hope they can improve on their 1/2 a win from 07..

did tailem get something like 14 points for 08?
they get extra for finishing as the spooners anyhow.
do you know GWW?

Tailem and Menengie got a bigger allocation of points. I think it was 14pts each.
Jervois, Imps, Ramblers got 10 pts i think. Not sure, but Mypo and Mannum might have got 12?
You can also lose points for playing an under 17, so some teams might try to balance it out that way. Will be interesting to see how it all pans out...

Think you'll find the speculation is a little off. Both Howser and Muffy are staying at Ironbank in 08. Haven't heard news about Graetz but would assume he would stay with Howser

From the Standard article: "Jervois, Imperials, Ramblers and Mypolonga, the top four clubs for 2008, have been allocated 10 points, while Mannum receives 13 points and Meningie and Tailem Bend 16 points each"

Its going to be interesting to see how it all works out. I think the point allocation will be changed every year according to premiership placings the previous year. Mypo appear to be harshly dealt with though given they have 3 points less than Mannum who beat them in the Elimination final.

One interesting thing is that players in the Mallee league are worth zero points i believe, so this could result in a lot of recruits from that area for next year, dont think that league would be particularly impressed with that.

Post on the Eyre Peninsula forum on here that Ryan Morris from Ramblers has signed with a Port Lincoln club (Lincoln South). Interesting if true given that the story was that he was going to have another try out with Sturt and then presumably go back to Ramblers if he didn't make it.

Will be a handy pick up for tailem, both steven and adam wilkey. both dont mind a little fight either. whos coaching? Dent still? might have his hands full. Is Michael Thomas following his brother too?

As far as i know Denty is still coaching.

With those 5 players ORDB mentioned, that would presumably be 15 points (i think they'd all be worth 3 points), so i doubt the other Thomas player would fit in under the points scheme.
