was that all there players or were some sitting out?

There were quite a few missing due to other sports and other commitments such as South etc.
So all up there was only about 3 senior players out there,
All the rest were first year players...

They did really well considering, the coach was very happy with the effort they put in from such a young squad,
They're not fit yet, but well on their way, the only way is up !!

Both sides played OK. the reserves were a couple of goals up and the A'S lost by about 7 goals
Very young sides for both McLaren and Port Noarlunga.

Reserves
Big Patto did well, Craggs OK, Stoppy was good and young Josh Gentel showed some pace.
Tom Curtis attack on the ball was good, Walker was his usual self and Sherry did some good things
A's
Port Noarlunga's very hard tackling caught some of our young guys by surprise.
For them Rory Tovara was very good at CHF, Tedmanson who played everywhere showed his class, Aaron Peterson

McLaren
A lot of people in new positions. Big Tom tried hard in the ruck and never gave in. Koopy did OK across half back. Russ Hart who was crook did some good things before illness set in. All the youngsters would have learnt a lot. We played all U/17's up from last year and the year before who were available. We will need to improve.

Also....

Can only speak for the juniors...

But wanted to say that the trail games against Port Noarlunga were both played in really good spirit.
We needed a few players due to the above reasons, and Port Noarlunga gave us some of the 'better kids' to help balance things out a bit,
especially in Junior Colts.

The Port Noarlunga coaching staff were really professional and easy to get along with.

Yeah, so just wanted to comment on how great they were to deal with.

Well done and thankyou Port Noarlunga =D>

Out of last years side who are still in Senior Colts...
Jai Redigolo, Nat McMurtrie, Justin Young, Anthony Natale, Simon Pistilli, Tyron Semple.
So some quality outs there.

Inch by Inch.. wrote:who do you guys have down at south?

Zac Cameron, Jack Low, Joshua Proctor, Sean Robins, Wade Hackett, Michael Balas,
Jai Redigolo, Nat McMurtrie, Justin Young, Chris Balas, Anthony Natale, Simon Pistilli.

We have the most guys out at SAFC than any other club in the GSFL.

Not my department inch by inch, but I'm sure Ben will be cleared.
A big loss for us, but he wants to go play with his mates,
Happens everywhere, all the time these days unfortunately.
But none the less I wish Ben all the best.

We have very 'young' sides in both our Junior Colts and Senior Colts this year,
Especially while these other guys are at South.
So will be a good year for the younger boys to develop for the future.

A little bit aside from Footy.
I guess if you read yesterday's Advertiser, Front page You may have seen young Tim Slade's photo in there.
Having his first drive in the V8's this week. Driving for the same team as Russell Ingall (Super Cheap) keep a lookout for the young fella.
A real good kid
A former Junior at McLaren Footy Club and played a few reserves games before venturing to Melbourne to further his driving career.

A very good footballer but a better driver

ohkkk. You will get all the 16s back like 4 rounds into the season which will strengthen your sides, however im confident you will not see young and Pistilli and possibly Natale as they will be required at south as i would imagine so they are 3 massive loss to the senior colts, yes benny is still a raw footballer but adds height into our colts and we are wrapped to have him on board this year.

after todays effort on the netball court we learnt a few things the yetti likes to win and doesnt like umpires, tatts doesnt know how to stand still, you cant bump when going for the ball, jimmy is all about jimmy and broughts is a giant and basically the netball girls gave us a lesson in most games. the runners coming out with beers was definately well recieved, and i think generally a fun day had by all, good on lee anne for organizing it

No players at the Vale..... BBQ Shapes

McLaren however, have had very solid numbers. Still a couple playing cricket (very badly by all reports) and of course vintage plays havoc until round 2 or 3.
We could always do with a couple more though!!!!!!!!!!!
With a fair few juniors at South the juniors at training are not as high as the last couiple of years

Has done most of the pre-season, so he is fitter than he has been for a while now. Moving well for a big fella, but i reckon age is catching up with the old body i think, but he just loves getting out there for a kick year after year! :)

How you lads looking for Sat?

We will have a few lads out due to big Comer tying the knot so that gives a chance to some of the young lads to have a crack.
I was told last night that the 14 game will start at 9.35. Looks like a nice day and am sure all will enjoy.
