I would almost guarantee Renmark will win the spoon this year. I reckon Loxton Nth will beat them by 10 goals this week.
So you've seen everything have you?

Loxton North in 05.

Berri dropped to fifth after winning its flag.

I guess with a six team comp it can be a lot easier to drop to the bottom after a premiership.

I too am pretty passionate about it, as you know.
You've had a few shots about it on here previously and I've not responded.
You've had another crack - as is your right.
Maybe it's worth thinking about the fact some clubs don't even forward their scores on to the media. The media has to repeatedly chase certain clubs for their scores each week.
If it wasn't for the persistence of journos at local media outlets, you wouldn't get your scores in.
Those same clubs then carp when they don't get the coverage they think they deserve.
I won't name the clubs that are persistently at fault here but I can assure you that the list doesn't include Waikerie-Ramco who always get their scores in. This has been the way for as long as I've been involved in sport/media in the Riverland.

Riverland football gets good coverage because of the strong history in the region, the numbers playing, the prominence of Australian rules in the national psyche and because it is proactive in getting information out to the community/media.

So getting scores in is a prerequisite for a match preview is it?
Excellent. You will have our scores Monday morning first thing from now on.

Gotta agree with all of what youve said mate.

In the Barossa, the media coverage of cricket had almost died, to the point the only coverage we got was come finals time.

Last season we flicked across to MyCricket, and enforced all clubs to have scores in my COB Monday (I think), our papers are now full of scorecards each week, and journalists are able to provide articles etc on games. The driver is clubs (or the association) getting active in getting information to papers ASAP so that coverage can be added.

We've probably gone from half a page to three or four pages a week of coverage because of this.

I can remember umpiring a colts game a few years ago and Paringa were 10 goals up on Wunkar at quarter time and the coach gave a few of the Paringa lads including Aaron a bake , reckoned they were bludging, so sent them over to the opposition huddle to play for Wunkar.

Aaron responded to the serve by single handedly bringing Wunkar's score back to Paringa's by half time. He then played the rest of the match for Paringa and they went on to win by 20+ goals.

I seem to recall he won the medal that year and also played some games for Westies but then never heard of him again. Watching him play as a colt back then he was a class act.

Major rumour going around RMFL is that the Ruckman who signed on with Mypolonga this year has re-joined BSR. Can anyone confirm or deny? I think his name is McKenzie

Berri up
Barmera up
Loxton North up

North's Bs also won.

Is it true Berri's Bs did too?

Good game from both North and Renmark today.
Good job from Aaron Camplin to come back and help his team out - he did well for his side.
Justin Proud absolutely fantastic for the Panthers at CHF today. He has had a great first month of the season.

Life FM commentators confused by some of the umpiring today.
