Bayliss won Encounter Bays B & F didn't he?? Doing that as a ruckman would say hes a reasonable player.

Maybe footymad can tell us if he can play? I doubt you would have seen him play footy nut, so you must be relying on your sources to say that he cant play...judging from your mail the reliability of your sources is pretty thin...

For the record Vick still hasnt signed with anyone!

Bayliss was talked of highly in the GSFL. Both times I played against him he jumped really well, gave me a hiding in the middle, but around the ground and at boundary throw ins he wasnt as dominant when you go body on body. Didnt do much around the ground in terms of taking marks. Having said that I rucked agaginst him in Round 1 and in the second match he was injured before half time so it might not be a fair indication

Baylis wins a B&F & yet can't play,i think footy nut is a little dark that Baylis has moved on 2 simply a better team in Jervois.A bit of bad luck with Jervois not getting Vick, some clubs & supporters would be relieved with that, though Mahoney wouldn't be losing any sleep,he has plenty on the go.

has baylis played assoc in the last few years magic??

and exactly how close were you guys to getting vick. from what i heard not even...

we are going to have to rename this the 'jervois forum' soon...
(and yes i assume you will reply by saying how good the team is and how many flags you have won but there are more teams out there to discuss is all)

on news from other clubs,
imps have got a new (x-state) ruckman, a possible on baller (cant remember where from though) and are hoping to seal the deal on julian wait from the port maggies soon
hear mypo have 2 coming from the SAAFL, one who played at south? (what happened with sammy on that one?? :o)
heard speculation that tailem are getting a few of there x boys back (muffy, gratsy etc) but would need a fair influx to get them back up the ladder
havnt heard too much about ramblers or the other out of town teams.

Baylis has only just finished playing his first full year last year at Encounter Bay, was selected to train for the Association team but was injured at the time.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

fair enough

sounds like he could be an early pick for ruckman of the year for next year.
expecially seeing as though morris is looking like not playing for meningie, probably the better ruckman in 07

yeah he would be around 33? def over 30 anyhow. is perhaps a tad smaller than tyson and wouldnt play as tall. saw him play league at the start of the year and he played around the wing or off a flank from memory. he has struggled a bit with injury over the past few years but has been at the maggies for at least 10 years i guess and racked up over 100 league games. would no doubt love the piss as much as tyson also!!
i reckon he would be a good pickup for imps for 2 reasons
1. he will no doubt be able to play a crucial role in the future recruiting of players to the club
and 2. more importantly he has a lot of 'port adelaide mongrel' about him and will help the otherwise 'softer' blue boys in this area. probably their biggest downfall of recent years
you could also argue that using 4 points on a 30+ year old, and no doubt a bit of coin, would perhaps be a bit of a silly move... time will tell

You're right about the mongrel...that will be a big bonus for them!

from what i have heard george is a good chance to return. the lion might be in a SD's gurnsey in 08??.. have heard conflicting stories about joe but have heard he is doing a preseason with the eagles at this stage so who would know. might just be the country grapevine working? i think most at mypo (supporters especially) are hoping that joe comes out and makes it a trio

Yeah i'd be interested to hear about Imps' losses as well, particular Shiell? He'd be a big loss, will he commit again if with some new big name recruits on board?? And what about Gerhardy, he lives back in Barossa again now doesn't he??

With a quality ruckman, you'd think Imps will be very strong, obviously one of their weaknesses this year just gone.

you could add gerhardy to the import list but i think he may be retiring. im pretty sure he used to travel up for training and games.
i believe there is a younger wait brother but am unsure of his football prowess and havnt heard he is coming to the club? if they have got the ruckman (2-3pts) and julian wait (4pts), that would have to be about their points done for the year?? im sure they would find a way around it though.
heard again that sayers could be a chance to play somewhere else in 08 but who would know...
and also that sheill is 'temporarily' hanging up the boots but is thinking he may be able to return late in the year depending on his body. juding by the extra kg's he had with a missed preseason this year though, i dunno if it would be much of a possiblity, or if he would even get a gurnsey in the 1s
