I have seen Matt play for north and he is a really good footballer and only 24 or 25 so very young, massive pick up for Uri and obviously ebert is very talented too.

One would probably be Daniel Roberts, his latest sojourn into league footy was another flop!
Probably needs the coin to keep his good looking missus in new shoes.
Now that is just plain dumb, don't you think?

Birdwood look like getting McGahey for around $500+ a game, either that or he goes to Broadview for $50.
Fair difference, if I know Ryan it won't be Broadview.

Who's McGahey? You'd be hoping he'd be alright for that little burner

I think you will find D. Roberts signed with Hahndorf last year just didnt play any games. He would be a very handy player considering age and size, nice back up to Nicholas.

Sounds like Birdwood will be on the improve again, any pen on paper with any of Lobethals recruits yet. With some of the losses to Blackwood and Mt Lofty and Hahndorf and Uris strengthening their sides should be a very tight interesting year also with Mt Barker not to far off the pace. I know it's all just rumours at the moment.

The majority of the locals really just wanna be successful and are aware that's gonna mean a couple of players get paid. Obviously there are exceptions but that's always been a consistent theme at Birdwood

I hear Gary Campell is on the training track burning it up already. So he will take up a playing coach role next year by the sounds in the A's. Evidently he has dropped 16 kilograms and that is just from his lower half. Keep the good work up Gaz!!!

I haven't seen much talk about the old Nairne Bremer's on this forum boys? Are they looking like threatening for a premiership in 09 if they're smart about their recruiting? or is it gonna be the 'TV and Kirsbrook show' next year?

McGahey has played more than 50 odd league games, so more than likely worth every penny.
I rekon I played against a Matoga when I played at Lockleys. Did he he play for Hope Valley. If so, theres no way your paying a bloke who's played Div 6 anything. Could be wrong guy though. Great too see Birdwood having a crack. Hope they shake things up in 09!

Is the same Matoga. More of a joke him getting $500, but he is a vastly improved player. got about 4th in the B&F this year, is a really hard working bloke and will have a great year.

gator aid, i dont think playing 18 league games in a year is a flop.. hes a absolute hulk of a man, and when your first ruck is brad dabrowski its hard to become number 1 ruck.. and also his missus is a model, so no probs with money there, i reckon he'll stay at the eagles and if not he will prob do a pre season there to get fit as a fiddle then attack hills footy
