About a dozen of the keen Uraidla lads trying to grab a spot in the b grade started some skills training this week. Only 3 days after the first cricket game for the year!

they might have needed it kitm ...my mail tekks me that at scott creek last sat vs scib (scott creek ironbank) cricketers d grade that your boys dropped 1 guy about 8 times . this guy made 230 out of 285 in a 40 over game
the young uris side was pulled together just b4 the end of the game and told by the senior players that no wonder they couldnt win an u17s premiership coz they cant even catch :D

Mate i played A grade against that bloke last year and he aint bad with the willow, what do you expect when you send an A grade player back 2 D Grade on Scotts creek Oval??

saint u are right he shoud make runs but 230 in any grade is an awesome effort even if you were of good sight playing with a bell in the ball :D
the point i was making was that there senoir players said what they said so how can these boys take a mark let alone a catch .to drop a bloke 8 times you would be hating it ...just 4 the record jesse went in at 1/0 chasing 200 odd then they were 3/5 so to bat like that and bring the boys home is a huge effort (18 6s and 14 4s )
 by the way we play a b grade game at scott creek this year and i 4 1 cant wait 8)

Be interested to hear about the other 3 sides that played finals - dorf, barker and uraidla. we've already heard a little about Mt Lofty and Blackwood. Surely these would be chasing hard to add to their list. Uraidla and dorf currently have a few from SANFL clubs, surely they'd be chasing a couple of mates to come up? Guess available points come into play though.

Matt Williams not happy at Barker at the moment, but will probably still play there until he's dead. Ryan Hunter to return to Uraidla, but anyone who knows RJ knows that he could either play A's and do some damage or play B's and get blind next year. Havent heard anything out of Hahndorf yet, probably depends on how many houses Trent Shorland sells over the next 3 months. Lucky for everyone he was crook when he was in Vegas, otherwise he may have come back with enough cash to buy 10 flags.

Are we talking established 'quality players' Banker, or young blokes who are looking for more opportunity? Would have been a tough side to fight your way into the last 3 years!

There are at least 3 quality players who are coming our way... plus have kept pretty much all quality players from last year. Might need some height but word has it it's looking promising for the Roosters

Interesting to hear about Kriegey signing with the roosters. He will be the pick up of the year. I have played against him and known him for a few years. real quality bloke with a great work ethic. Can obviously play the game. Its good to see the roosters looking at quality recruits. One of the best things about Kreigey besides being a quality player, is that he will bring other players to the club over the coming seasons.

Lets see if it works both ways, that Birdwood can look after the recruits as well as the recruits being faithful to the club.

Scott Byrt from Mt barker heading overseas and the Blackwood ruckman Bowen won't be playing there again next season. Have been approached by another ruckman (duel B&F) but haven't actually spoken to him yet.

That's a copy and paste from the last 2 summers.
Back it up with names and where you heard it.
Perhaps an even smarter approach would be to concentrate on what's happening closer to home.

i dont particularly want o hear about loft's ins and outs nor about blackwoods or Uraidlas, these teams have been around the mark for the last 4 or 5 years and most probably will be next year too.
I want to hear abut the in's and out's for the teams like ironbank, onka's hanhdorf who are around the mark but not quite in the same circle as the top 3 mentioned.
Ironbank, hanhdorf and onkas are always vying for that 4th and 5th spot.
So it would be very interestiong to see who these teams have recruited or lost in the prer season to improve their side.

If anyone has anything, please post!!!!

Keep up the Lofty posts Banker as closer to home is not a worry. I would expect Muffy to go as he wasn't able to travel with the kids for much of our season this year. Apart from that, I'm not aware of anyone departing IB and we have a fair bunch of 17s coming up. Will be hard to get C Grade spot next yr.

Said 2 years ago if Birdwood didn't start spending they'd be wasting their time in Central Div. By spending I meant on quality recruits, and by the sounds of it they have, but they'll need more than that to be competitive.
