Read Dalwood's preview article in the Standard at it was clear interleague means a lot to him. He'd be hurting more than the players I reckon.

Lucky that system isn't in vogue down here, there'd be a few blokes sitting out next week.

Can't say I read any of dalwoods stuff in the paper these days as 99% is personal attacks on players and bullshit articles trying to be funny, instead of a decent preview of an upcoming game or review.

=D>

Absolutely spot on mate. Used to enjoy reading his stuff years ago but its gotten worse and worse.

As for the suspending of players for not making themselves avaliable for interleague its a joke. Noone cares about interleague footy anymore. They would get better results by playing blokes who actually WANT to play in it, instead of MAKING blokes playing in it.

As for the suspension of a player whos on state under 18 duties it would not surprise me one little bit with this league. Disgraceful.

Same argument/discussion being had on the Adel Plains forum...

Things like age brackets & exemptions
Previous rep footy record

all depends on what the league wants out of the game/s

100% Agree - why make guys play if they don't want to - its just not smart. There are enough guys in this league that want to play and will put their heart and soul out there to not have to make people play - and its unfair on the guys that do want to play if they are running around with blokes who don't...

Totally agree that players shouldn't be forced to play in inter league games but to be honest there was a rule put in place and everyone knew about it.

Surely it's not that hard to at least contact Dalwood and make up some BS story instead of just ignoring the situation.

Personally I'd love to know more about the Bowen situation as it appears he made an excuse and they deemed it was not a legit reason for missing. I have heard some excuses used and thought they weren't overly convincing, but they have also been people who have participated in the past so the league wouldn't really have a reason to doubt them.

My understanding is Bowen contacted Dalwood to inform him of a serious family illness and wanted to take the opportunity to return to Mildura, given Mannum's next bye is in 3 weeks time. On what planet can a football league deem a serious illness as not 'legit'? I'd imagine they are on very shaky ground on this one.

This is terrible if this is the case and he has still been suspended in my opinion, family always come before anything, and even work comes before footy!!

I will admit I'm surprised with the League Ladder currently with the top 2 not the 2
I expected, really a great season of for the RMFL the closest and most challenging year for along time

A really good letter to the editor in the murray Vallee standard from Meningie president Henry Angas.

Also reading Dalwoods write up from the week end games he clearly has a bee in his bonnet with Meningie at the moment, doesn't seem to like the fact that Motlop and Moore are standing up to them and not accepting being walked all over. Good on them I say, the powers at the top need a real shake up.

Completely agree Grasshopper. Its time for a change in the RMFL and at the Standard. Let's have someone review the game for a change instead of going for a cheap laugh. Dalwoods reports are making the Murray Valley (a very low) Standard.

every week its bagging motlop/moore/benbow at meningie. at tailem its always about the coach and jase degabrielles poor form/hair style. at mannum its always how old clayton and sheedy are. at jervois nothing is ever really said. at mypo its always how good the gene machine is in a team of nobodys. at ramblers its always about nugget hein with knives in his back. at imperials, its sickening. how good the great man collo is, how good harry wait is and how tough and good harrowfield is.

now you never have to read the standard again.

That is an absolutely disgraceful act from the RMFL if true. Most country leagues would encourage their players to play at the highest level possible. An amatuer footy league punishing a kid for representing his state and taking steps towards making footy his career? What a joke.

Glad we belted you in interleague now, just to spite these people who think the RMFL is the be all and end all. Wonder how Dalwood felt when Hoggett put the cue in the rack and went to the bench after kicking his eighth early in the last?

Can anyone explain why there is a clearance application for Gene Robinson to the SANFL?

Also noticed Tailem may have a couple more players coming. If they rock up tomorrow then the Eagles could cause an upset. Got a few injury concerns, and some bad form of late us Roosters

I'd expect the clearance for Gene to play in the Country Championships, he has been selected in the Zone teams an by what I can see is the only player selected for the first time so he will need a clearance showing he can play.
Was not on any of the playing sheets for Sturt over the weekend

Looks like Mannum will be stuggling to make top three. Champion Players find this league a little harder that they think. Think they can waltz up play in the country and be super stars. One of these players is an ill disciplined knob. Continually gives away frees, 50m and wont shut up. Perhaps the club needs some balls and tell him to play football instead of umpiring because he is not helping anybody. Then again the President standing up at presentations and making a joke of his suspension just shows he does not care one bit about the officals and has no regrets over what he did. I guess Karma is a great thing. They are now getting what they deserve.
