So it's a replay of the 2006 A & B Grade Grand Finals... Did anyone see the match between Willunga and Strath on Saturday. I left after the B's to go and watch the netball GF. Did Willunga play well or were Strath just not up to it? (or both??)

Probably a bit of both limb. Willunga jus worked hard and were sure with there hands unlike the week before. Blew the game out a little bit in the end but a much stronger 3rd quarter by the demons to put on 7 or 8 goals to 2 or 3 put the game beyond doubt.

What did you think of the b grade game limb? I certainly didnt expect the result to go like that. If anything that side was worse than the side that played them 2 weeks before, infact it was definitely 5 guys short of the b grade side that played strath at mclaren vale.

Was told that Straths' 'B' s had 2 - 3 key on-ballers in the 'A' s and like the world trade centre, take out 2 - 3 strategically placed links and the whole thing falls down in a heap.

Interesting you say that Jim because I thought the Strath B Grade was pretty much the same side that played Langhorne Creek a week prior.
In the 2's Strath didn't seem to have any desperation but that may have been due to Willunga getting the jump on them early.
I think this week will see 2 absolute bumper finals. In both the A's and the B's Langhorne Creek have been the team to beat all year and Willunga have come into some great form when it counts.

Hopefully they are great finals limb.
The best 2 sides over the past 2 years and both of last years finals were under 2 goals in the final margin.
A close Grand Final is what everyone wants and hopefully both grades from both clubs turn up to play and have a good crack at it!

What effect do people think the Port V Kanga's game will have on the local league GF attendances? Surely they should look at even moving them to a Sunday? I know it's late notice but it would benefit both leagues.

P32 thats ridiculous!

Interesting things I find about the 2 sides this week are the fact they are very different but I do think one of two things will happen - Willunga will win by 7-14pts or the Creeks will get by 10+goals with it all being over by half time or very shortly after.
The Creeks have too many experienced runners and although Willunga have some very good forwards the Creek has inform forwards.
In saying this if Willunga can hold a 50/50 count at all stoppages and seriously bottle up the corridor they will control the game. Willunga will need to move all corners, forward pockets and wingman inside corridor, CHF needs to demand the ball and be prepared to work up the ground and as importantly across it while the back 6 need wingman support while they work inside their opponent forcing them outside of 50.
This has been the only thing that has held the creek this year however the team in doing so also ran out of legs allowing the creeks to capitalise. Willunga will need to make a physical presence early, to many soft big men for my liking (sorry but they dont hit the hard body or split packs) also their tackle count will need to double the creeks for the first half, this will cause sore and tired creek bodies who will also be under constant pressure and hopefully which will stop their late run when fitness kicks in.

Further more after speaking with three clubs this week it is the impression that the points system is in for sure, sadly we can expect to see the same two top sides playing in the GF for the next 2-3years unless ofcourse somehow the bottom 8 players in each A'Grade team transform into Chris Judd or ben Cousins, actually come to think of it do they do drug testing in the GSFL.....

It's unfortunate that the AFL match will clash with a number of Grand Finals around the state. The only saving grace is that the AFL doesn't start until 4:30 so at least the people that have an interest in both can go and watch the local footy and then get home in time to see most of the AFL on the TV. Too bad if you want to attend both games though.

Interesting take on the game there FM we shall see Saturday how it all pans out.

The port game wont take a lot of supporters away from either side. The crowd will be down due to the limited amount of teams playing on the day. But there will be parochial support for both of the sides playing in the 2 senior games.

Already looking forward to a great day of footy at Strath with the weather forecast looking like being a beautiful day!

Which team did this but ran out of legs FM?
I think we need to dominate the centre square. Stop supply to there forwards and give ours the best possible chance to kick a winning score.
Basically if they dont have the footy they cant win the game.
We have to be at the absolute top of our game and we know that.
The ruck is where i see it as most critical with Matty James giving them first look all day 2 weeks ago and finally it got the better of us and they ran away with the game!

P32 with your limited knowledge on football I wouldn't be throwing stones!
Well I think that your onballers will be out numbered by quality opponents therefor will need to wingman and flanks top help stop the flow - hence bottling up the corridor (not to be mistaken with flooding).
But your right, if they cant get (Creeks Forwards) then they cant kick it...

Im confident we can match them with onballers FM.
In saying that they have a crack midfield and the rotations through there are impressive and with Love, Buckley, Hill and co going through there its quite a task to beat them. Theres no doubt we are up against it but we are obviously going to believe we can win as we have confidence in the playing group we have!

Quality side there. Willunga with more reps than Langhorne Creek? Undefeated all year the creeks and Simmons doesnt give himself the Coach of the Year!!!!!
I think if these things are going to be done they should be done correctly. Baz is a great coach but this year Simmons has taken a side to and undefeated grand final berth. Love, Hill, Buckley and Porter unlucky to miss.

Couple of dubious selections but if every side has to be represented then fair enough.
