The side definately was well coached by Craig griffiths right from the start way back when they started picking the squad. They obviously wanted to do well after a moderate display at the carnival the year previous.

:? Plenty of Pubs and Clubs to write yourself off in Pirie, no different to Adelaide other than on a smaller scale.

Yepper, had a great night out on the Saturday night last year in Pirie.

This wouldn't have contributed to the injuries that hampered the rest of your season would it Silicone?

I had a scan of my Advertiser (Barossa Valley) and I couldn't see any copy or even a photo. Country results section had Saturdays Results listed 2 and 2/3 times. These were in Sunday Mail, but their proof reader must be better because only appeared once. No photo of winning team. I think sport contributions close at 6pm previous night so slack of organisers not to get results of Finals in by then. I suspect Advertiser would have printed them if received, even if they had no idea what they actually were. Naturally then no list of Country team. It probably is true that games in country would attract more people but couldn't knockout games be played in country and final as curtainraiser at AAMI. Sling ABC some money to broadcast it even. Remember it is the levy paid by each country club that funds this! I'd like a whole lot better for our money.

I thought the event was very well organised, but yes, it's pretty disappointing that there wasn't even an article in Monday's Advertiser. You'd think a statewide Country Championships would be something they would cover, with at least a photo of the winning team and a wrap up of the results. If it was a City Carnival I bet it would have rated a mention. You would think with the SANFL involvement they would have sorted out some coverage in The Advertiser.

Then again, the SA Country game in Stawell last year didn't rate a mention either, despite getting plenty of coverage on radio shows like KG & Cornsey's show etc. Is this just a case of the organisers not bothering to inform The Advertiser that the event is actually on? I would suggest it probably is.

I think you're right. I'm sure a couple of photos and a bit of a press release landing on a desk at the advertiser is all that would needed. Sponsors deserve maximum publicity.

Apologies in advance, ran out of space in our publication to publish team of the carnival stuff, but Berri's Peter Safralidis made it, and that's all that matters really.

They struggled.
ACT won the thing!
Renmark's Ryan Bennett named all Australian.

ACT won because their team was like our State metro team.
They don't have a 'country' team as such.

Yeah, but that's no argument when you consider the smaller number of players they have in the ACT.
