Matt Oliver is also a big miss.
Agree Paynter and Hocking out.
Some others are too high but that is all opinion based.
For mine number 1 individual player is Niklaus. 1000 goals say no more.

In terms of long-term dominance, Niklaus does stand out.

Whitty's resume is superb on paper and I'm really splitting hairs but I'd pick Joel Mont first if I'm picking a team and my starting mids.

Brad Valentine is an interesting shout. Didn't see him play but did most of his best work at Kapunda I think?

That HWE run in the mid 00s probably needs more recognition in the list - Jarred Wilson is a good call.

I'd have Glenn Dawson over Brian Mont but again, if long term contribution to the comp comes into it, I can understand how he's up there.

Feels wrong to have Brian in there and not Rob if that's the case.

Anyway, my opinion is probably heavily influenced by what I saw from 2011.

I seen you go well against Big Nik a few times.

Heater and Craig Taylor could've possibly been higher, I agree with Dawson.

Can't really argue about the top 5, I think I only got introduced to the APFL around 2010, I'm sure Whiskey was huge prior to then.

Did Kym Hermann or Carey Payne play many seasons in the APFL in the early 2000's?

I think Payne coached Blyth, not sure how much he played in the APFL. Hermann also coached but not for long. Did play. Could play I believe but never saw him.

I never went well against Niklaus in my memory. Getting 5 or 6 kicked on you was a good day.

I'm sure he was at Hamley around 02-03, I thought one of my good mates was out there with him.

Did anyone else hear the trial between Two Wells and Willaston got called off after 3 quarters due to an all-in?

Kym Herrmann coached Hamley during their early to mid 00s money splurge. All of those years they made the GF as well I reckon.

All lists like this are subjective and no one ever agrees with the order but it also leads to good discussion.

A couple of stiff omissions in Lee Allmond and Shaun Light I reckon.

Lee being a 6 or 7 time as grade BnF winner and one of the best in the comp over a long period of time.

You could even swap Ned and Whitty around. Ned been playing high level of A grade since 17 years
Old. 7 time prem winner, mail medalist and is not far off Two Wells record game holder.

Jarred Allmond won a flag with TW as well. Pretty big omission from his resume.

Not enough defenders in there. But it is a bit of a guessing game for the journo so can understand how that happens

Agree with Hocking out.

Niklaus and Ned have great records and would be my 1-2. Edmead as a playing coach the best perhaps the APFL has seen.

How did the trial between central United and Virginia go? Interested to see how they went against a Div 7 team.
Back to the creek it is.

And you aren't? What's your coaching record like in the APFL? Didn't a team you were coaching lose to a team that lost by 516 points last year?

Don't throw stones mate when you're no better, it's pitiful.

Virginia got up by around 10 goals, I think the Units had their measure in the 2's though.

Wow. lol. No worries mate. I thought even you would understand the politics behind a club entering a competition and the people running the club having no idea. I could have taken the easy way out and quit but I didn’t. But you have your opinion. Just for your information I do have a premiership as a coach in the Barossa league. But hey that’s all good.

I'm well aware of your junior premiership as a coach and you had my backing last season, I checked every Saturday evening how you guys were tracking and was rapt for you with a couple of wins against more fancied opposition.

My issue is you popping your head in here just to shit-can Virginia, you wanted a bite from someone and you got it, it was a deliberate troll, twice.

Their on-field results haven't been great but behind the scenes the club has worked tirelessly to clean up the rough edges, they're heading in the right direction.
