bye bye Mr Rudd

Kevin Rudd's reign as saviour of the Labor Party is almost over...

He has dug himself into a hole by lying about what happened in WA and the government will further expose this truth this week. Politically he is finished and all the hard work he has done in the last couple of months building his status and credibility is now a waste of time. Can't see him making it to the election. The Labor party need to win key marginal seats in WA to have any chance in the election. There will be turmoil again as they fight amongst themselves to get yet another leader, perhaps Gillard??

The Labor party will be back to the same old tricks.....

Now, now lying or expanding the truth doesn't seem to have hurt Mr Howard and his crew has it?

Remember The Peter Reith Affair?
How about The Children Overboard Affair?
Ummm Weapons of Mass Distruction ring a bell?
What about Miss Rau or the lady deported to the Phillipines?
AWB and their kickback to Iraq? Now I know Mr Howard and Mr Downer can't recall what happened there, but...
Oh and the latest backflip on David Hicks?

That's a fair catalogue isn't it?

J Ho's a very good politician, who uses everything to his advantage and is the master at turning things around.
If Mr Rudd can stare down this challenge, we've got an interesting fight on our hands.
If he doesn't fight back - then he's not worth challenging a man who I disdain, but who will be labelled by many as our greatest PM.

J Ho sure did. And then all of a sudden remembered it again.

Rudd will fight and he has come out swinging Howard and the Lib's know that this election could be the last for little Johnny. Big bad Peter is looking over the bosses shoulder much like keating did to Hawke.

It was mentioned this morning on Leon Byner's show by 5AA's politicial commentator that the Federal Police are likely to lay charges on three of the sacked WA Labor ministers. Involvement is known to have been more widespread than that and further minister sackings are likely. As a result it is tipped that elections in WA will have to be called early. The party that wins those elections is likely to carry momentum into the Federal election.

It is true that Labor need to win 16 seats, I am not sure how many they need to pick up in W.A to make that figure?

Opposition parties don't win elections - governments lose them. The only person who can make little Johnny will disappear is Peter Costello, not Kevin Rudd.

Why do you say that?

Peter Costello hasn't exactly made a good fist of it so far has he...

The Government are unlikely to lose the next election (even more unlikely given the crisis the Labor party now faces). Kevin Rudd will do well to retain his leadership of the Labor party, let alone defeat the Prime Minister.

It is inevitable that the Government's succession plan will involve Costello taking over from Howard at some stage after they win the next election.

What, our current government's never dealt with crooks?
You're kidding yourself mate.

BTW - you've conveniently addressed other people's posts, but not the catalogue of events I've mentioned.
Wonder why that is?

i know this is getting away from the current topic, but still relevant to elections and the aftermath of who wins.

IRAQ - the poms have pulled out some troops.

the yanks are about to have an election where (cant think of his name) one of the candidates wants to withdrawal all of the american troops.

this guy wins the presidency and the US are pulled out of IRAQ, the poms have a less personnel presence, what happens then??????

all of a sudden the presence of aussies looks greater then what it has been and then we become a target for terrorism, when we didnt have to be........

hopefully they blow JOHNNY HOWARD and his liberal mates up!!!!!!!!!!

Tell me what on your list you think will actually affect the outcome of the election??
It's all non current except for the David Hicks saga of which Labor's stance will blow up in their face eventually when the real truth comes out.

It's stupid anarchistic comments like this, typical of the outdated and old fashioned union movement, that give the Labor party and its followers a bad name.

it may well be................

but by now if people in the country havent had enough of the propaganda that we get fed by Johnny Howard each day then we are all doomed, the future doesnt look all that great in what is supposed to be the best country in the world!!!!!!!!

lets hope Johnny Howard toughens up on his IR laws, that will win him the election.

He should also toughen up on the HICKS issue, he is getting soft in backing down on the original stance!!!!!!!!!
