The ATO is issuing a Tax Receipt to accompany their usual Notice of Assessment which contains details of Australian Government debt and a breakdown of where your individual tax dollars are spent.

Level of Australian Government gross debt
This year: $320 billion
Last Year $257 billion
Interest payments on gross debt this year: $13.2 billion

Welfare $x
- Aged $a
- Families $b
- Disability $c
- Unemployed $d
- Other $e
Health $y
Defence $z
Education $t
...

Abbott politicising the ATO?

Could be, but this is just back to his political plan 101 version 1.0. Hasnt had to change much just needs to keep going on about the same issues. In this case government debt etc.

We have definitely seen the American trend of a wholesale shift to the right, coupled with polarising politics with basically no bipartisanship to speak of.
