A different slant on the term.

Not very political, but interesting.

Agree or disagree or other?

Obviously tongue in cheek. I don't like the term myself, if someone doesn't agree with me so be it, but on face value it is a terrible put down, as much as I question the competance of certain politicians (guess who ;) ) I don't doubt their sincere love for the country and I think most want to leave the place better than they found it even if their methodology (IMO) is flawed. Enjoyed the article particularly the bit where Turnbull said it is un Australian to denigrate someones else's religion.

Is un Australianess or being Australian the same as patriotism? I've always liked the quote by Samuel Johnson "patriotism is the last refuge of the scoundrel"

I love the term "UnAustralian". The last time I used it was when some former workmates caved in and worked on ANZAC day. Another term I love is "weak as piss"

Being Un Australian is Un Australian. If I ever use the expression I use it very much tonguw in cheek. The statement reeks of nationalism to me.

I use the term a bit too freely, and I think it has a very pertinent place.

Working on certain days (in certain fields, mind you), such as ANZAC day, shouldn't happen. IMO it is against the Australian way of life to do so (therefore Un-Australian).

There are many examples.

Just another meaningless buzzword to toss out there...
