(Remember Rann's villa in Italy and the issue about work done on it there and SA money that went to the village coffers.)

Whoever they are there should be an independent investigation to determine whether it was criminality or stupidity.
Either could suggest unfitness for office...

even if its stupidity, who approves the paperwork for the allowances?

if i have to do overtime here at work, my overtime allowance has to be approved by about three people, and i have to have a good excuse to do it. thankfully i only have to do 1 sunday morning about every three months

surely there is an approval process for these pollies? someone signing off on the payments, someone checking that at the very least they havent already reached their "cap" of allowed times per year. if not id suggest that there should be one by the end of the month. sommeone that can check into all of the expense claims, to save some of these "administrative errors" from embarrasing people in future...

and i agree, sack them all anyway. as you said Psyber, its either deliberate, or stupid, and either way they have demonstrated that they shouldnt hold their positions

If you're a fan of all things squirm-worthy, Knoll's interview has got your name written all over it. It's like someone made a political version of 'Spinal Tap' mixed with bits of Clarke and Dawe.

https://www.news.com.au/national/south-australia/stephan-knoll-in-trainwreck-interview/video/39d94feeb013164881b5a705be9195a6

Long story short - Knoll does incur a range of 'actual' expenses, but when pressed steadfastly refuses to identify them, and his attempts to switch the focus to his talking points fail dismally.

As I noted in here yesterday, Marshall would have called a amnesty, you've got 24 hours to come clean.

No, but it might help him ensuring the replacement doesn't end up in the same trouble

No ( as Dutchy notes ) and it will give Marshall time to work out if he can sack him ( out of the party ) or just move him to the back bench depending on how many others stay at Mum and Dad's place.

Marshall has done nothing about Terry Stephens from last month (yet).

Mr Stephens's decision to nominate Victor Harbor as his primary residence has allowed him to claim more than $60,000 in allowances for stays in Adelaide in the last two financial years alone.

He's been claiming the allowance since 2011.

Terry Stephens bought the Norwood townhouse for $1.085 million in 2012, on the same day he sold his previous home in the eastern suburb of Stonyfell.

The ABC has been unable to find any companies registered to Mr Stephens in Victor Harbor.

But a search of the Australian Business Register further confirms that Mr Stephens's family trust is registered at a 5067 postcode — which covers the suburb of Norwood.

An ABC investigation has already revealed that a Victor Harbor apartment where Mr Stephens had been registered to vote was listed as a rental, and that he had not been levied land tax on the Norwood property in the 2019-20 financial year.

The latest revelations came as the Police Commissioner Grant Stevens revealed officers from the Anti-Corruption Branch have referred Mr Stephens's expense claims to the Independent Commissioner Against Corruption Bruce Lander.

Marshall let Knoll off the hook.
That's a free kick to Labor all the way to the next election

If they can only claim actual expenses, why don’t they have to produce receipts? Us mere plebs have to.
I’d be sacked if I pulled one of these stunts.

It’s time to get rid of the pre-nominal “The Honourable”
None of the ar$ewipes deserve it
